    Hi,dinx1972
I enter this section of MSE very rarely & do not often thank on individual post within it.I mean no offence to the posters but really do not read so much of them.
My point re thanks was where someone actually enters a comp via a posted thread on the main board.Surely, just out ot politeness, one should thank the OP?
That's my way & has been since I joined.I do not discriminate & "double tap" on all that I enter now that we have the "entered" button as well.
Comments within threads I may not thank on as I often do not revisit a thread after entry.

That is what I was trying to say but you have put it far more eloquently :rotfl:. I do always thank the original OP and use the entered button, purely because the thanks button was there first IFSWIM and it is good manners to thank them for sharing the comp, but I can also see why NEWBIES might look upon our practise of doing this and think ????? ;)

I do have to agree a little 'thanks' for the post isn't too much too ask, after all it would be very time consuming to find all the comps ourselves and without people posting it would take twice as long. Everyone should be thankful, because without people posting on here I'm sure less people would enter.

Hi,I do see your point re newbies but I see "manners" & respect as a slightly universal concept that should be applied to all of our dealings with our fellow man, especially in such an environment as here where words can be "twisted" & read as not originally intended.
To see disciminatory thanks on here just seems so poor & not in what I see as the spirit of this board.Using other log in ID's is all another subject though :-)

I'd fully agree. There is not another comp portal in the UK that is as active in posting comps for others, that gives answers as well.
What's a quick click of thanks cost?
I'm just so grateful that so many people post these comps for us all.

Really sad now the Olympics has ended. I have had the most amazing two weeks watching sports, will now have no excuse not to do the housework:D.

Still got the Paralympics to look forward to in a fortnight, and we managed to get tickets to go and watch:j.

Right the land of nod is calling and I have a sinking feeling that the kids are still on the Xbox . Night everyone.

Hi thanks for your reply, i havent got the hang of it here fully yet, can you point me in the direction of a suitable guide to read on how i should learn about the best practices in here.

I am new to competitions but my friend Sally said i should register here, i have only ever won a few small things before, hoping that might change soon :-)

    Thanks and good luck :j

    Morning all,

Looks like the Inn was open late last night! Just for the record I click the thanks and entered button for every comp I look at.
Well Monday again so wishing everyone a lucky week! DD goes back to school on 23rd (DH's birthday) so not much of summer left. Still have a little cheapo break starting next Sunday to look forward to and DS1 comes back from Bermuda on 1st Sept after his two year accountancy stint.
    Must get some comps done.

oooh yep wingo, looks like some had a late night last night

just for the record as well, i press entered & thanks for all the comps i enter on here but also enter comps from other sites as well so some i don't need to enter/thank as done them :) don't wish to get involved with any thread or remarks concerning the thanks button again as it's always being posted about over & over again so i now try to bypass all the repeated posts to much other stuff to do

your salmon & new pots sounded delic am thinking of doing that this evening for a change essen.gif

not much sun here this morning tis a bit drizzly pluie3.gif though not complaining as it'll save me watering veggie patch & plants later on :j:D
