So I have just bee out to see what we can do.

So the passenger side at the rear has been freed from rocking and trying going forwards and backwards. But the drivers side at the back is not free, you can try drive forward but the back wheel literally looks like it is been dragged (did this for not even a second - do not need to cause more problems)

I just worry about doing damage to the clutch by trying too hard, a burnt out clutch is the last thing I need.

I hate anything going wrong with my car as it something which I just do not understand.

Thanks for all your help, will try any suggestions :)
  • When you apply the handbrake, does it feel like the cable is tightening gradually as you raise the lever, or does it feel slack until the lever is at the top, then suddenly go tight?

Do you have breakdown cover for use at home? I'm guessing not but if you do, give them a call!

When I apply the handbreak it feels completely normal which is confusing me

Google is dangerous when I search what it could be, always think the worse.

If one side has been freed do you think the other could be? I just do not want to cause more damage

Not for home :( But our local garage comes out to take the car to the garage, they are so reasonable and helpful but this will not be until Monday morning

The back brake has rusted on. I just use brute force, backwards normally, until it comes off.

Sorry for all the questions but would you literally just keep trying to reverse and go forwards? Pushing does not seem to do anything but maybe if someone stronger is around tomorrow that would be better

I've done that with mine, but it was my car, not yours, and I did drive it the length of a carpark before the back wheel started turning.

it is deffinatly your breaks stuck on, as you say you ave freed one side now you just need to free other side. if the rocking doesnt work can you jack car and up and get the wheel off then tap the drum all around with a hammer. also this is a long shot andt worked unusual lol but worked on my punto when it happend. basically i was parked right up against a wall so could nt get wheel off. so i reached under from back and tapped what i could then i connected a hse pipe up to a hot tap andran that making it go over the drum there fore heating the drum and expandding it after leaving water running for a couple of mins i heard a ping and the brakes released them selves. . i would deff try the hammer first less mess. just take wheel off and tap round the drum all way round. making sure of course you dont have the hand brake on.
