Would You Go On the Jeremy Kyle Show?

I think it's very, very sad that people go on that show. And I think it's even sadder that it gets so many viewers. There are nice, intelligent people out there asking themselves what the point of living is...and then there are despicable, vile, commercial shows like this - with unbelievably idiotic, yucky (sorry, no better word for it) people on it. And then of course the self-satisfied, superior viewers enjoy it, because obviously they are so much better, and just watching because it's harmless "fun" and makes them feel better about their own little lives, like going to the zoo - isn't it?...It's just all so terribly sad.
I think the majority of the audience are similar to the guests and do enjoy the show. I know people who watch every day - while I'm chatting to the other mums outside the school gate like a saddo they rush home to catch the start of Jezza.
The reason my teenager watches is not to feel better about his own life. He's interested in Kyle's persona and the way he talks and manipulates situations. He's thinking about media studies for A-level. A lot of psychology students watch it too. It's Kyle himself they are laughing at, not the guests.52% tight0 -

It should be stopped. Its the modern equivalent of a freak show basically, taking advantage of easy targets who might not quite understand what theyre getting into, with bribes for hotel stays in london, expenses paid.
If jk really cared, he would help without televising it. Having said that, the problems are rather trivial at times anyway.0 -

I agree Carl. I actually did a presentation at work regarding the popularity of shows like this, and the XFactor, BGT etc. I likened it to the olden days PT Barnum, where people would flock to see midget man, bearded lady, siamese twins etc. Only nowadays substitute 'Lequisha' 'Wayne' and 'Leighjonah' with their brood of 6 kids by 6 different 'farvers'.
They are curiosities to noraml people-well as normal as I can be anyway
Ruaridh Armstrong-missing since 05/11/11. Come home old boy-we miss you x

No I wouldn't. JK I feel exploits those who appear on his shows. I really do wonder how effective the help is from Graham and his team!0

It's car crash TV which is why so many people watch it.0

I've watched it from time to time and think he's possibly the vilest, most immature, pathetic little man ever to have been on television. He spits when he yells, insults everyone before he hears their side of a story, and jumps up and down screaming like a mad man. One day he'll have a heart attack...I just hope it doesn't happen on televsion!
What I really dislike is the way he has a go at someone until they're really upset, then switches to Mr Nice by saying 'Hey, Sweetie, you really need some help, that's what we're here for'.
Or he starts off by being nice to someone and then suddenly turns on them. One day he'll have a heart attack...I just hope it doesn't happen on televsion!
Now that would be real car crash TV.
In answer to the OP's question - 'NO, I wouldn't go on the Jeremy Kyle Show. Never in a million years. Not for £1,000,000.0 -
No way.
Does anybody who actually has a job go on there?0 -
NO and they wouldn't be friends for long afterwards, either.0

I've never seen a thread on here where a woman claims not to know who the father of her baby is? That's all l ever seem to have seen on there!
Coincidentally (though it seems to be a 'friend's' problem
