Anyone know if there is any truth to the rumours on the Three network going bust by October?
In that scenario what would the outcome be?
Whoever took over from the administrator would carry on with the contract.
(If no buyer was found, then you'd end up with a handset to use (though no 3 service).0 -
It's good to hear that my deal is so good that a lot of you are doubting it! I'm not of the mindset where I could understand why anyone would make something like this up though.
It could be that they are expecting to make money from me by me going over my free allowance. I've just seen that my wife has gone beyond her allowance most months of the contract, which is actually adds up to quite a lot. Don't worry, I'll be much more careful.0 -
That's a really good deal you've got. I just wish that Three would offer me something. I've had my PAC for 10 days now and Retentions haven't bothered to contact me.
I did all the right things - politely negotiated my way past front line customer services with their oh so not tempting "new customer offers" to finally get the fabled PAC on the second attempt.
Then I sat back and waited for Retentions to call with the real deals but absolutely nothing. Perhaps I'll need to carry out my threat of moving to T-Mobile for an SIII @ £28 / month.
The only outcome of calling customer services was to be moved onto Sim 100 1 month rolling with 2000 Three - Three minutes thrown in. This was there attempt to block me from taking the PAC. I took the reduction and then took the PAC anyway.0 -
I sincerely doubt that offer is ever going to materialise.
Either, somebody has got it wrong at Three's end, or the OP has. Perhaps I'm just a little jaundiced in my view.
I've just come from another board where posters of long standing, who should know better (or do they themselves know better, indeed? It is a money saving site after all and if it's open to a bit of self promotion, then so be it) are posting their own affiliate links.
So, I sincerely do hope it comes off for you, but it's either a mistake by Three, or I'm wondering if there's an element of porkies attached to the OP and if 'trolling' for thanks, might be going on.
As I say perhaps I'm a bit jaundiced, so to take it at face value and to be fair to the OP. They aren't very active, nor new so why would they suddenly, as they say, start 'trolling' for thanks.
However, it's common knowledge that Three are as stingy as hell on Retention deals. I've been with 'em three years and the best 'unprompted' by me deal he, or his manager could come up with was one that was staring me in the face for any new customer, when I went to look. You're not even looking at the Sammy Ace for 15 per month on a 24 m deal and that's a tidy little phone, in itself. Low end, as it may be.
I doubt it's ever going to happen but if it does come through the post to you and your price plan is as they say it would be, then good luck to you. Best deal in the UK I'd say.
The SII is still 27 quid a month, as it is. So, sorry mate, I'm a doubting Thomas on 15 per month for an SIII.0 -
That's a very good deal... you've managed to get a free phone (Value of £500) + a 2 year deal for less than the phone cost alone!0
-
Well the doubters are right to be suspicious. I received a phone today from Three but it wasn't what they told me. It was indeed the SII.
There is no doubt in my mind that I was offered the SIII since I made them confirm the offer several times. I'm pretty sure I used words along the lines of "it's definitely an SIII not an SII?"
I haven't opened the box and I called them straight away and was put through the to the investigations team who will listen to back to the original call and get back to me within three days.
It looks like someone was trying to pull a fast one. Maybe they thought I wouldn't notice or care. But I have told them that if I am not given the SIII, I will want to hear the recording of the conversation myself. If I am in the wrong, I'll look really silly on here!0 -
I doubt you are wrong if you asked several times but will be interested to hear the outcome.0

Even for SII, I think it's a very good deal, David. I wasn't offered anything close to that last week.0

Hmm, this may be down to a poorly trained operator, who doesn't know the difference between two 'I's and three.
Will be interesting to see what they do.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -
David, this sounds just like waht happened to me a few years ago.
I was offered an amazing deal and an up to date LG handset, I agreed and they sent everything to me.
I got the handset and it was about 5 years out of date, I tried to complain and they basicly would not let me send it back, they told me if I sent it back they'd charge the entire contract to my bank account. I didn't know my rights at the time, ended up with the lump of plastic which turned out to be faulty, upshot was they took 5 months admitting it was broken so I got 5 months paid for.
But just a note to say, please look at the contract details too as when I had mine they were also different to what was promised and I lost out big time. Three are liars and if you can escape from them run as far as you can!0
