I've thought about getting a tattoo before but I've never been able to think of something that I want bad enough to have inked on my body for the rest of my life.
When I was 18 I got my ear pierced, I'm now 33. I only had an earing for a few months then changed my mind. With age I look at things differently, this is another reason I would'nt probably ever get a tattoo.
Something I think is cool and a good idea now will be looked at differently by me when I'm sixty and with an earing I could just remove it luckily, I must have looked like a !!!!!

its lovely isnt it, tommorow is the day and im really excitd if not a little worried;) i love this tattoo but have got him to modify it a bit, im having mine done in purples, pinks and lilacs and have got him to make the tail feathers a bit more feather like with a few more of them, it should look fab when done, im going to be brave, will post back with a photo of the finished item on my back, so i had better get my brave face on cos i want it all done in the one sitting.

Good luck with it, it is a very bold choice for a first tattoo, in terms of size and placement. The pain isn't unbearable but I found it unexpected first time - hot, sharp and stingy. But it gets easier as it goes along!

Find a good tattoo artist and ask them to design a phoenix for you. Often pictures of tattoos you find online are custom designed for people and it's not so cool to copy them, but an artist will draw you something similar if you can show them some designs you like.
