if you do get it done, make sure you follow the aftercare instructions as directed by the artist - and dont use vasaline to keep it moist as the wound cant breath/heal. I used bepanthen and I didnt even scab!

Bepanthen is brilliant! I hadn't heard of using it until the artist who did my back (third tat) recommended it. I used it as he suggested and I didn't scab at all so my colours are still as vibrant as the day they were done (unlike one of my others which did scab and now looks a bit patchy and needs a touch-up).
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

When you said "bottom of your back" I thought Tramp Stamp! it`s not though. I quite like it but one question. Why have a tattoo somewhere that you can hardly see it?

Bepanthen really is fantastic. I have alot of tattoos and the ones I used Bepanthen one have healed the best, it soothes the skin aswell, stopped me from going mad when it was itchy whilst healing!

I think if you need to hunt around for the words, then don't get them.

    This ^^
 It's a bit long. It would probably go 1and a 1/2 times round your waist. Try something shorter.

I also recommend Bepanthen for tattoo healing. My last few tattoos healed much better than the first two and I believe the Bepanthen made the difference.

Pain will depend completely on you. One thing I would say though, and it may sound random, is make sure you know where you are in your cycle and if you get the least bit tender in the build up to your period then avoid getting it done then. I, stupidly, didn't connect the two and it's the most painful tattoo I've ever had done.

Also don't worry about people wondering why you'd have a tattoo hardly anyone sees. Lots of people say/have said that to me, but my tattoos are for me. Most of them are rarely on show because of where they are. You'll also find that people either love or hate word tattoos or wording round tattoos. It's what makes tattoos so good - they are completely personal. Mine are all words and I personally don't like tattoos with colours in - different strokes and all that.

Don't get wording unless you are 100% sure on it though. Especially if you are going to translate it. I have one tattoo in Italian, but I have a trusted relative who could check the translation for me.

I have 3 tattoos, and would have more, but am avoiding words, I have a huge amount of song lyrics that'd I'd plaster all over me if they ever invent semi permanent tattoos, but as it stands I have discovered a bracelet maker that stamps words onto bangles, and will build up a collection so I can take on and off the phrase that suits my mood..

Can you tell me where to get one, or what it is? Thanks
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.

My first one is from here http://www.etsy.com/shop/aquabeet
    and I love it.

If my first tattoo is at the base of my back, but from before they invented the term 'tramp stamp', is it still a tramp stamp?
