Echo the bepanthen. Dunno if it works for nappy rash, but certainly helps tattoos heal :)

    and I love it.

If my first tattoo is at the base of my back, but from before they invented the term 'tramp stamp', is it still a tramp stamp?
    Thanks.

And, yep, you're a tramp :rotfl:

But don't worry, some men like that :D

I have 8 tattoos and 5 of them are just wording. They all mean something to me and I love them - but they're on my ankles and feet so easily covered. They're all in the same script done by the same tattooist. But they're deeply personal things that I knew i wanted before I got them done. I used Bepanthen on my later tattoos and am using it on the tattoo I got two days ago but I still scabbed.

I've only had one tattoo, because of the cost, but I plan to get more.

The one I have is a socialist star on the back of my shoulder (rebellious! :D) and is almost completely faded now because the girl who did it passed away a week later, and I won't have it touched up.

I won't shy away from words when I get more (I am definitely getting at least one for my 40th) but they will be words which mean a lot to me!

I also won't give a !!!! about where on my body they are :rotfl:

When you said "bottom of your back" I thought Tramp Stamp! it`s not though. I quite like it but one question. Why have a tattoo somewhere that you can hardly see it?

good good point and one i though about for a good while, i love tattoos, and have always wanted a flowing tattoo on the bottom of my back. this one will be flowing up at an angle.

i dont think tramp stamp i think sexy, i know i wont be able to directly see it i can look in a mirror to see my tattoo and will do often i expect, i suppose because its a piece of artwork i also want other people to see it too, but only at certain times, for instance when im on holiday, wearing my bikini it will be on show, but when picking up the kids, my job etc it will be hidden from view, and thats not because i dont want people to know i have a tattoo because i will show people, but because for me i dont like lots of tattoos on show all the time, because like it or not many look on them and treat you different, with terms like tramp stamp etc.

my tattoo has a very big meaning to me, and so i dont want people putting that term on me, so when i choose to show and answer questions will be up to me, where as if it was on my arm/leg on show much more often i would have to have people look and make these assumptions.

thats wrong but society does do that, which is a shame, im not an outgoing person, who wants attention for my tattoo, some people love showing off their artwork and thats personel choice and fine by me too, i love looking at brilliant tattoos on people, but its not for me.

so in short i wanted the bottom of my back because i like it, and i think this tattoo suits that area.;)

I got that one when I was 20 to celebrate getting my degree and getting married.

I have another on the back of my neck, shown as the 'prison' area on that chart, I'm not sure I have even ever had a library fine..:rotfl:

i am so excited if not a little nervous, think i will take a few painkillers beforehand, my best friend has quite a few tattoos and said its really down to the individual as to whether they can handle the pain

Not a good idea. Painkillers (and alcohol) thin the blood which means you will bleed more during the tattoo. I know at my place the form they have you fill in beforehand asks if you have taken these and they won't tattoo you if you have. I bleed loads without those 2 things so can't imagine what it would be like if I took them before a tattoo.

Best idea is to take paracetamol or co codimol rather than an anti inflammatory like aspirin or ibuprofen. Get your tube of bepanthen ready. I must say, for a first tattoo it's quite a big one.
