I had a flick through and from what I read I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything by not bothering. Personally I like reading books that are well written and that leave me not wanting to put them down.

One look through the first book and I thought a 16 year old american kid had written them. It sounds like something I'd read on tumblr by some kid obsessing over their latest crush.

I'm half way through Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks at the minute and I can't put into words how beautifully written it is. And the sex scenes are enough to make even the most ardent 50 shades fan blush.

I do agree that Birdsong is a beautifully, poetically written book with a story that will make sure you can't put it down. BUT....not to burst your bubble I think Sebastian Faulkes "won" an award for the worst written sex scenes in that book?

As for who will play Christian Grey....someone mentioned Christian Bale playing Mr. Grey and errrrr....how does she put it? "My insides clenched in that special way" :rotfl:

I would watch the film if he was in it....but then again I'd watch ANYTHING with him in it!

Sorry, it was for Charlotte Grey (which by the way is another fantastic book)

Not that even if he was straight he would venture into deepest, darkest Wales and ask me out! Its funny how us women are so disappointed to find out a celebrity is gay even though we know we would probably never meet him.... lol.

It's really quite dark and hardcore. I can't say I particularly enjoyed it,even though I wanted to.

Story of O spends too much time trying to be like the works of the Marquis de Sade which I suppose is understandable given it was written to impress some bloke who was into the work of the latter.
