Heather 38 - how lovely having baby baptised on Mothering Sunday! It'll make a special day even more special! have received a first Grandma card today, complete with Jo's handprint - another thing to treasure! But, having lost a child some years ago, I know that today can be very difficult too, for those grieving for past Mother's days when there were more cards from children no longer with us, or because there is no longer a card to send to our own mums. A real happy/sad mix. Hugs to all.

Good morning everyone on this sunny cold morning in Essex.

DS2 is playing football today - nice and early but I can't get to church which makes me feel very fustrated. At least he was awake nice and early and gave me a lovely bunch of flowers. DS1 went downstairs immediately and I stayed in my bedroom in anticipation of some other goody only to hear the telly going on at full volume! DD1 has just got up and gave me some lovely chocolates (I get a special dispensation for mothers day). DS3 made me a lovely lollypop stick bookmark at preschool. Even DH has bought me a lovely honeysuckle scented candle. I was quite amazed he chose honeysuckle. We have a wild honeysuckle which grows in our garden and I often remark how it's my favourite scent, considering it was last summer his memory is better than I thought!

DS1 has been excluded from school again - for not getting his report card signed enough  . He's had a really good week at school which is immaterial as far as the school is concerned a couple of missed signatures is the end of the world. It's very complicated but I am coming to the realisation that his card is marked and I may need to find him a new school. I don't know where I stand with transport as the nearest school is over 10 miles away (who would live in rural essex!). I wouldn't be able to get DS3 to school if I had to drive 20 miles every morning to get DS1 to school

I hope everyone has a nice day today. Hugs to all in need

Elaine373 - I thought your poem was lovely!

Morning all (just) and Happy Mother's Day.

    Happy Birthday VickyA

Well I'm in an absolutely foul mood. DP being selfish again, I probably am too, but hey ho never mind. I got 2 cards which the boys made at school which are lovely. DP has the attitude at the mo of 'You're not my Mother why should I'. So has gone out for a boys day of off roading and drinking and won't be back until tomorrow. I think we need a chat, but like everything else will have to wait until tomorrow. Part of it cheeses me off as he knows I am ill, been sick several times and seriously lacking energy but still went without even asking how I am this morning.

Business as usual here, I was going to take the boys out for dinner (one less meal for me to cook on Mother's Day) but it's extremely windy at the mo and keeps snowing on and off, so don't know if we'll be going. Hate driving in weather like this. Hoping to call at a friends later, she has recently found out she is pregnant but has just found out her Dad has lung cancer, and is starting chemo tomorrow as they can't operate. Worried about her and want to make sure she is ok.

Hugs to those who need one, especially those who find Mother's Day a little hard. Moggins and TM thinking of you both.
One day I might be more organised...........

    Good Afternoon All

Happy Mother's Day to us all, and (((hugs))) for those who will remembering the Mum's who are no longer here!

Wind kept me awake most of the night, so was up quite early.
Been snowing at times also this morning

Tackled Tesco's, (so glad I go early on a Sunday), and then to the crem to put flower's down for Nanna. No-one else has been since I was there last.

No phone call off my kids to wish me a Happy Mother's Day, but then again, nothing surprises with me with my ex.He doesn't have the brain to think that I would appreciate a call. OH has brought me some gifts, but said he will wait till the kids come home and let them give em to me!

Yesterday, I managed to sort out DD drawers and wardrobe, she has a big pile of clothes to try on to see if they still fit her for the summer. Managed to fill a bin liner of clothes she's outgrown. Some I will pass on to DLB for her DD (if you dont mind bab), other's will go for charity!

Just having a 5mins chill with a cuppa, then got to go to OH's house to drop his mum's card & present off!

I will read through the thread shortly, so please dont think Im ignoring you all.

    Have a great Day
    Love as ALWAYS

    Hi Everyone

Happy Mother's Day to those who are mums - and big hugs to those who find this day painful and difficult.

AussieLass and her OH have departed my house now, and are on their way down to Dublin. They will have an exciting journey as it is snowing here and it is very windy. It'll be OK though, as the snow is just melting and there's no ice on the roads.

Apologies to Snoozer for yesterday....in my haste to start the thread I omitted to wish you a happy birthday.

Happy birthday to VickyA, hope you have a lovely day.

    Bye for now.

  • Hi Guys!

I feel ill....I think I have the lurgy that is going around ATM:rolleyes: Burning up and generally feel lousy with a sore throat.

DD's audition went well and she will find out in 2 weeks whether she has got the part she wanted.

WM has been on, DW has been emptied and toilet cleaned. House cleana nd tidy.

Had a nice day so far but was supposed to be going round a friends for dinner but have had to cancel as feeling so rough. OH said he might do Shpeherds Pie for dinner:D

Anyway, Im not stopping long. Hugs to all.

    Lots of Hugs lil-me
We have had that virus here too Penny Pincher keep warm and I hope you feel much better soo.

Happy Mothers Day to all, and hugs to those remembering, I'll light a candle in a little while for my mil.

The boys have made me lovely cards at school. DH is working but he had popped home with some flowers when I got back from DS football match, DS scored 2 goals and the match ended in a draw, he is very happy as it was a good result. The team won for the first time in 4 years just after Christmas, have won one since and now a draw against a team much higher than they are in the league.

Enjoy the rest of the day whatever your plans are.
