I am new to studentphils threads  and got sucked in

So am I relatively-speaking, but I sussed him out fairly quickly, particularly as I went and read a couple of his older ones. Apparently he's been moaning on here like this since last summer; hasn't figured out yet that no-one can sort his life out for him and all it does is irritate people until he's a laughing-stock.

Oh grow up, you silly boy. What's next? Throwing teddy in the corner? You've got a matter of weeks to mature about 10 years and render yourself employable. Go and sue your parents or something.

So dont they owe me nothing for making my life hell for years and not doing what they should?

How can you achieve your best if your life is made hell?

Because I am allowed privacy here like everyone else.
Plus, what if someone from the uni read it then I might get into trouble.

Or maybe they will read it and decide to contact you and help you if your uni is so shameful as you say! (Though i don't believe that)

    NAME AND SHAME PHIL.

Also if a student from your uni is here maybe they can help you though i think a counselor maybe preferred :P

I am sorry I get upset but I do try to keep happy but it is so very hard with all the built up annoyance at myself and them.

I do try not to be unhappy but it is hard.

Assuming you're talking about your university, no they owe you nothing - if you couldn't hack it and didn't have the wherewithal to demand the changes you allegedly need, you should have left. Nothing forced you to stay but your own inability to take responsibility for your life as an adult.

Ask some of the real fighters on this board - they make your life look like a walk in the park, mollycoddled by your parents. Just wait until you get into the real world - no-one is going to smooth your path for you.

Of course you could just as easily be whining about your parents. It's difficult to tell with you because you complain so much.

  • I just wanted to correct an issue that came up much earlier in this thread - university disability policy does reflect the real, 'grown up' world of work. Someone said that in a job a dyslexic person won't get extra time to help them spell - if it's shown that extra time would aid their ability to do their job, their employer would be required to allow this (unless it was impracticable in that particular area of work, such as working on the phones for emergency services where speediness is important).

And also, anonymous marking is compatible with extra allowance for a disability - at least at Hull uni. Here we have student numbers on exam papers instead of names, so you can state quite clearly that you have a disability without it affecting anonymity.

Phil - if you keep getting shoved between people with no-one helping you, go to someone higher up. Make an appointment with the Vice Chancellor or Principle of your university, and take a list of clear complaints with you. If nothing gets done, go to local newspapers. If you really are in need of support, you'll have lawyers jumping to take the university to court for you.

Alright I know I am a failure and a softie and I am not proud of it. But sometimes the fight gets you down all the time.

I do not want a fight with them and seeking help makes you unpopular as it is. I only want nothing more than to feel included, to be liked and to be able to achieve.

But I just feel so alienated sometimes that it is hard not to get down.

There you go - they owe you nothing because you've done nothing to fight for what you need. How can it possibly be their fault?

Wallowing in self-pity will not bring you popularity or success; it will simply turn people against you.
