Because I am allowed privacy here like everyone else.
Plus, what if someone from the uni read it then I might get into trouble.

You have already told everyone in DT what Uni you attend, many many times. Or did you forget which uni you told us? You need to start writing your story down.

Privicy? If you wanted that, you should have shut up over 10,000 posts ago when you started talking about yourself.

There you go - they owe you nothing because you've done nothing to fight for what you need. How can it possibly be their fault?

It is their fault doors are locked even after I was told they would be not. Their fault that I get timetabled in rooms I can not get to.

This thread was relatively helpful, until Lusignan came along and started spouting abuse.

Yes, Phil goes on about the same thing time and time again. But he is asking for help.

As with ANYBODY on this board, if you don't have anything helpful to say, then don't say it.

  • Why on earth does it have to be a fight?

Anyway, it's all academic now (my attempt at an ironic joke there) because for any mitigating circumstances (extra exam allowances) you have to apply at the time of the exam. It's always made very clear that no adjustment of marks can be made later (usually about a month) than the time of the exam (or essay).

If you want to get mitigating circumstances now, for the remainder of your course, and some last minute support, then that will be possible, but you will have to research what support is available yourself, and make appointments with people. If you want them to come to you, I'm sorry, but you've made it quite clear yourself that it's never going to happen.

I'm leaving this now, people have turned it into another abuse thread.

    Phil, in summary:

    Be constructive.

    Look forward, not backwards.

Take responsibility for your own actions.

    Ignore the muppetts.

Oh don't worry, I'm not going to waste any more time on this; I joined in because he promised a general discussion as his intention for starting this thread. I tried to help Phil when I first arrived and rapidly came to the conclusion that he doesn't want to be helped. For every reasonable suggestion, he has an excuse, so I'll leave him to it. A bit of straight talking earlier in his life might've worked wonders but it's too late for that now. I'll leave him in your capable hands.
I am not stubborn. I am merely correct.

I know what people say to me is justified. But I just do not understand why I have been allowed to fail and to be so unhappy and yet no one at university seems to take note of my problems and yet they are meant to support people.

I do struggle on but because my problems are not directly linked to studying (but I do have study problems and I feel out of my depth but not in a way that they would take they are related to my disability) so I am just left unseen and struggling.

  • Things go wrong sometimes! Disability support is fairly new (compared to other university systems), and sometimes it does take a bit of work to get things the way they should be.

Once I was supposed to have a seperate room for my exam, the disability people messed up, and at ten minutes to the exam time I found out I didn't have a seat anywhere. That wasn't my fault, and it caused me a lot of panic when I needed to be calm, but only I knew it had been messed up and so only I could sort it out. And sure enough, twenty minutes later it was sorted out.

Chances are, everyone at your uni thinks that someone else is organising your support - if you don't tell someone that nothing's happening, no-one will know otherwise. As for being unhappy, that's just the way life goes sometimes. Harsh and unfair, I know.
  • What sort of problems? Be as specific as feels comfortable for you, although the more specific you are the more advice people can give. PM me if you prefer.
