Guys none of this is new or unusual. The alcohol issue is not one in the control of Wembley. Those people making paralels with Rugby should be aware that there are different regulations between football and Rugby, namely being that at Football alcohol is not allowed to be consumed within sight of the field of play. At Rugby no such problems.

It was also the case at the old Wembley and every Premiership ground in the land that you can't take in drinks containers etc, bottles, flags on poles, Umbrella's etc etc. Yes at some (especially in the home ends) the security staff don't rigidly enforce this and I would imagine the same will eventually happen at Wembley. You have to remember that community day was the first day the Stadium was open so of course the security was going to be especially tight.

As for the prices, same old same old. You are tight it is an absolute rip off but all Football stadiums do it so its not just Wembley. Also most Footy fans aren't looking for a healthy option so thats why it is mainly chips and Burgers.

Is there then a health & safety reason why we cant take in our own snacks ( such as a cereal bar or bag of crisps? or a bottle of juice??) or is it as I edxpect a commercial decision? In all my health & safety training, I've never come accross why food & drink should be excluded. ( aside form the obvious like dont bring meat on a flight from South america or otherwise)

I understand the need to remove buggies from seating areas, but not at an unmanned point. they need to be signed in like a cloakroom, or have coin operated lockers ( like they have in asda for example)

or am I missing something here?

the bottom line is all food in these sortt of places is diabolical. Thats why Brits are always named in international surveys as having the worst food in the world. The sick fqact about it is youll have international footballers runing around being the picture of health, whilst wembley PLC is flogging eyebrowburgers and deep fried whatever to kids, whose parents have ZERO choice what to feed them as they are so restricted.

    It does make me mad.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • The food is not very good and extortionate in price, the service at a lot of outlets is not good and the queue is massive. Also theirs no baby changing facilities - you have to ask to use a first aid station
  • Oh, and you can only take in flags that are amaximum of 1 metere square, security randomly check and will seize any goods thst are on the banned list.

Not even staff can take in food, employers have to supply special food bags with regulation food stuff in it.

  • Hi

Am due to go to the Saracens Leinster Heiniken cup match on the 16th October.

Just wondered if the same rules are still applying (i.e. bag searches and consfiscation of any food and drink).

And if anyone had been recently, how how pricey/good the food was.

Also.... is it easy to find and get to from the train station

Sorry, cheeky asking for so much info esepcially as its money saving !

Its not just the UK! Earlier this year I went to the Hamilton 400 a big motor race in NZ and they confiscated all our food and made us empty our drink bottles down the drain. Food inside was very expensive and not good.

    Hi,
I went to see Muse last month at wembley... i had my handbag searched, and no food was allowed it, and drinks had to be emptied into plastic cups. Food prices are ...well, lets say slightly expensive... 2 x cokes, 2 x sprites and 2 x pouches of sweets = £16. There is a Maccy D's on the retail park just outside the stadium tho, you'l be best off grabbing something in there before/after (although expect ling queues!)
I got there via bus, but the train stop is near enough outside it.

Hope you have a great time!

They will have everything Marshalled when you leave Wembley stadium station with plenty of people to show you where to go - you can see it coming on the train anyway.. Go to Wembley fish bar just by station for excellent food and cheaper then the stadium
