They do, they confiscate flags, big hands, horns and literally 80% of the contents in a woman's handbag.

TBH the caterer is done by outside contractors who were lucky enought to win the contract so hopefully if the stadium owners recieve enough complaints something can be done.

To be honest I think that's the problem in a nutshell.

It's the ugliest possible form of capitalism. The FA give a "sole supplier" contract to the highest bidder. The highest bidder then milks their lucrative monopoly to the absolute max by selling as little as possible for as much money as possible. Customer satisfaction doesn't really enter the equation.

I think with these places a lot depends on who you get on the door as well. I frequently go to the MEN Arena, Manchester and bags are searched as you go in. Food isnt allowed in and the prices inside are very high.

Went in september with sis in law who took her own bottled drink, the guy on the door wanted to confiscate it but sis in law managed to convince him she was diabetic!!! He asked to see her card (which threw us as we didnt know diabetics carried a card), she quickly replied that she had left her wallet at home. He did let her in.

Fast forward to my next visit to see Iron Maiden in December, the security was a rather pleasant lady, she had a look in my bag which contained not only soft drinks but makeup, comic books (yes, Im a geek), gloves, purse and enough prescription drugs to knock out an entire football team. She laughed and waved me through.

Try and pick what appears to be the friendliest security and have a laugh with them as you go through, most of the time they are happy to wave you on. Get antsy with them and they will lay down the law to the letter :(

Diabetics don't necessarily carry a card. My mum is a diabetic but she wears a special pendant.
What about if someone has a nut allergy - surely they can't prevent them from bringing food in?

What if you are allergic to fast foods,i wonder if producing a medical certificate would enable you to bring in your own food.

I think its to be expected. After the farce of building it, it would be out of character to have reasonably priced, quality food. Dogs dinner to the core.:D

There is a Tescos within walking distance...

Or there was the last time we were up there...

    Which is...

But Tescos never go out of business.

    Do they?

yes there are plenty but none are particulary healthy.
Off my head I know there is a Mcdonalds, wimpy, subway, chinese takeaway/fish and chip shop, numerous fried chicken outlets and a few pubs that do food.
Depending on which direction you come (and most visitors alight at Wembley park station) I would hardly say tesco is within walking direction but there is a Lidl about literally across the road from the station.
My personal recommendation would be the chinese takeaway/chip shop. the chips are always nice and fried in clean oil and the prices are reasonable enough.
    Hope that helps.
