Haha! Love it!
If you were to get a ticket for the free 2 hours and you realised you needed an extra 2 can you just go back and change the ticket for an extra free 2 hours?
It only dawned on me that I once paid for 3 hours (I was buying a bed, very long decision making had to be done!) when I wonder if after 2 hours I could of gone out and out another free ticket on the car? Another debate I know....! :think:For Everything A Reason....0 -
I got a ticket from UKPC for parking sans ticket in this (free) car park the other week [...] so thought it was worth (as suggested by others here) contacting the retailer in question, and I also copied in the owners of the retail park [...] One very stiff and formal letter later I got a very pleasant phone call from the manager of the shop saying they'd instructed UKPC to drop any 'claims' to a charge

I thought I'd give this approach a try after receiving a UKPC parking ticket while parked a free car park in Aylesbury. I wrote to the store manager outlining the situation and asserting my role as a valued customer of theirs. Shortly afterwards I too received a concerned phone call from the store offering to have the charge revoked. Although I had no intention of paying UKPC's outrageous fee, I've just saved myself a few weeks of apprehension and minor anxiety. I think in most cases the managers of stores who rent space in these large plaza-style retail developments are as ticked off about the whole situation as the rest of us: it's their landlords who hire the services of such vile companies as UKPC, while the instore staff have to suffer the angry customers, loss of business, etc.
Thanks for the suggestion Major Jim!0 -
3 letters from debt recovery and now one from Zenith.

They are the same company, note the small print at the bottom of the letter and the signatures of 'James' and 'Claire' the transgender managers!!Je Suis Cecil.0

Just an update:
Nearly a year on and I can say that the letters stopped and I have had no trouble or anything from it.
Thank you for all your help!
But see this taken from the local newspaper:

More needs to be done to get this info known.
Thanks again.For Everything A Reason....0 -

Oh yes...Tracy Kiss, we have heard about her blog. She'll be OK, she's getting advice from a 'pepipoo' or 'notomob' or 'parking cowboys' fightback forum expert, I think, about how to deal with this scam.
She's mentioned on the Parking Prankster's Blog too I seem to recall. The more bad publicity on blogs and facebook the better, for Retail Parks & Stores & Supermarkets that use these scammers.
Good for her getting it into the local paper too! :TPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Debt Collectors cannot initiate court action, only the PPC, the landowner or solicitors for either of the latter two.
Send them a 'cease and desist the harassment' letter and threaten reporting them to the Financial Ombudsman and the Credit Services Association which has a new Code of Practice that they will have signed up to and be expected to follow.
See how that goes. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
