I assume you mean scrambled egg? Yes, a possibility, but one egg on its own is not going to be sufficient to keep me going the 6 hours till lunch!
You;d be surprised - once you cut down on carbs, a high protein breakfast keeps me going sometimes til 3pm. I have cheese, just cheese; and nothing else til lunch - yesterday it was 3 before I felt peckish again. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
I make porridge with skimmed dried milk powder (Co-op value) so it's cheaper and easy to make a bit more dilute.
I use fruit and a teaspoon of demerara sugar. I would check out the calories in your syrup etc. as I think a little goes a long way and you may find that it doesn't add much to your daily intake.
Some of the ideas here are excellent, but you really need to look at how they fit in with the rest of the day's intake.0 -

We do not like the Aldi ones, but the Asda ones are goodBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I have my porridge wiht milk and syrup or brown sugar - I figure a spoonful is less than the amount of sugar in processed cereal and at 30 calories a dessert spoonful I'm happy to take the hit. I also like banana porridge with a bit of coconut, apple an cinnamon and pear and ginger porridge. But nothing beats syrupPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

For those who were asking about protein powder (which I have for breakfast with a banana and some skimmed milk, whizzed up in a blender) - it is usually available in sports stores but often in the health aisle of supermarkets too. Bodybuilders use it for increasing the protein in their diets so they can bulk up, but lots of other people use it too! It is great for keeping you feeling full for hours.
The cheapest types aren't flavoured with anything nice although of course they would do the job. I buy a more expensive "lady-friendly" (yes, it is marketed at women!) version with flavourings like vanilla, chocolate, etc., but it is still healthier than most other things I could have for breakfast0 -
Hello
We are short of time in the morning and I am looking for good breakfast ideas/recipes that can be eaten on the go. Currently I make Nigellas cereal bars at the weekend and they are taken with a piece of fruit by my OH every morning but I am hoping to find new ideas.
Ideally I would make the things in advance and they could last a couple of days. I look forward to hearing all your great ideasTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Eh, I'd be getting up five minutes earlier and throwing some porridge oats into the microwave. Two minutes in the micro, three to eat it.
Not one of the tips you expected to hear, I daresay.0 -
I've just made these at the weekend and they were easy and they're tasty:

Also, what about breakfast burritos? Essentially, scrambled egg, peppers etc. with a bit of cheese in a wrap. They can be pre-made, frozen and then microwaved. Here is one recipe:
