Not one of the tips you expected to hear, I daresay.
My OH has to take medication an hour and half before eating in the morning so although this would be a good idea normally I really need things he can take and eat on the goTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
i make hm sausage and egg mcmuffins and freeze, they take a couple of mins in the microwave to heat through0

A microwaved sausage and egg muffin would be a bit bleh after an hour and a half once it's got cold.
Is it something he can eat once he gets to work? What sort of work, a desk-jockey?0 -
Hi Rummer,
I've added your thread to our existing one on breakfasts on the run where hopefully you'll find more ideas.

my son now works long shifts and is away from home 11 am til 12 midnight. I'd like to send him off to work with a good breakfast. Any ideas other than the full Engish?0

Porridge has slow release energy - you could add (eg) sunflower seeds and raisins to give extra protein and energy. (like a hot muesli)
Fresh muesli has all the food groups. A bowl of that followed by a couple of slices of wholemeal toast with Marmite for B vitamins would be really good.

See if you can get this book from the library, it has a great chapter on breakfasts:

Porridge.
Boiled/poached/fried/scrambled egg and toast.
Welsh rarebit
Peanut butter on wholemeal toast
Thick Greek yoghurt with muesli sprinkles and honey
Piece of fruit.
At least two of the above, but preferably three0 -
Porridge is always a good one as it provides slow release energy. Add some dried mixed fruit or even some chopped up fresh fruit to go with it and it should see him through a fair few hoursEveryone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0

Porridge and eggs (not together-lol) are the most filling breakfasts I know of. Boiled egg, poached egg on toast, scrambled egg, omelette.
I put some berries (sml handful from a frozen bag) with my porridge.0 -
Porridge, eggs, french toast, bacon or sausage sandwiches?
We have an existing thread with lots of ideas:

I'll add this to that one later.
