I make the children breakfast every morning and then eat when they've gone to school. I'm very conscious that they need a good breakfast full of energy and brain food so I alternate the following;
Porridge (value oats) with toppings of brown sugar and raisins/ strawberries/ chopped banana
Wholemeal toast with poached egg
Wholemeal toast with mashed banana and peanut butter
Scotch pancakes with blueberries
Our own scrambled eggs with lean ham and toast.
Fresh fruit salad with HM yoghurt and granola
Sunday mornings are a huge batch of scotch pancakes with loads of different toppings and fruit.0 -

I'm also a creature of habbit, my mornings must be started with a cup of boiled water (Cooled slightly so not to burn!) followed by a bowl of porridge . I'm lactose- int so I use rice milk (Long life) it tastes lovely and sweet and once open lasts for 5 days. Which is better than soya as that only lasts 3 days.
today I'm having it with strawberries on top, which I got in the reduced section of the co-op last night! just ripeWeightloss: 18lbs/28lbs (Start weight: 11st, Current 9st 10)

1 cup of oats (tesco value) three cups of water (tap is fine) put into saucepan and cook slowly until bubbling pour into a bowl sprinkle a pinch of salt over it and pour some cold milk on eat and this will keep you going until lunchtim.Takes all of five minutes at the most to make Can't be bothered with a microwave Five minutes as opposed to three minutes what are you going to do with the two minutes you have saved ??
failing that I toast two sliced of wholemeal bread and slice a banana between them no butter or spread and cut up and eat healthy takes two minutes to make and fills you up until lunchtime .0 -
If I have the time and inclination I love fried eggs on toast, and the ketchup HAS to be mixed with the soft yolk when on the plate! Bread doesn't cost much, eggs are fairly cheap and it keeps me full until lunch.
I do have porridge sometimes, with a swirl of golden syrup or jam - not as healthy as all the fruit everyone seems to be having but it makes it edible for me. I can't stand it plain.Making mistakes is not the end of the world, though it often feels that way!0 -
I just had 1 slice toast with Marmite,topped with a poached egg with chili sauce & beans with sausages.One of my favorites0

Very routine in our house, porridge made with water and a little milk maybe a few currants or a little soft fruit from the garden, on a Sunday I push the boat out and usually have two poached eggs and wholemeal toast...unless I find some nice reduced kippers and if I am feeling really flush may have some bacon, all washed down with a cup of tea! As OH doesnt really cook much he eats what he is given :-) except he hates tea so has coffeeDont wait for your boat to come in 'Swim out and meet the bloody thing'0

A bowl of microwave porridge with chopped seasonal fruit mixed in followed by vitamin tablets and two mugs of strong coffee.
