  • I like fried good quality tasty white bread in butter, with 1 small can of Mr T Baked beans spiced up with garlic puree and a dash of chilli.
I can also add a generous lot of bacon and onions or mushrooms for veggie alternative.
Serve with large fried egg. Hmmmm!

This morning I am having a toasted banana sandwich and some fruit juice I am off up to London for a history walk so will take with me a half litre of juice as the weather is supposed to be warm and you need to keep hydrated .I shall probably have a light lunch out as a treat as I'm meeting an old friend as well at lunchtime .but my toasted sandwich will fill me up until then as with wholewheat bread its got a sort of slow-release action so you don't get too hungry

Corn Flakes. Kelloggs. The only branded thing I buy now. I find the cheap ones all have that odd "malty" taste. The 750g box is down from £2.58 to £2.00 (26.7p/100g), so it's now cheaper than the 1kg "value" box at £3.29 (32.9p/100g). Ice cold (it's hot, so I've turned the fridge up a bit.) milk (£1.18 for 4 pints, or 2 for £2.00). Skimmed, but that's a fact of life for me.

Whenever I'm worried fruit is going to go bad, I chuck it in the freezer and use this with a bit of juice and some ground flax seed (omega 3 :D) to make smoothies.

DD often has beans on seeded toast. I add a little low sodium yeast extract (supermarket marmite) underneath for extra flavour and vitamins.

In the winter I often have muesli or porridge, but in the summer I prefer a bit of fruit with some nuts or seeds and a lot of water. I like to keep it light rather than stodgy.
  • I have either porridge or else a fried egg from one of our chickens, marmalade from Approved Foods (ordered a massive box of individual portions ages ago, helps with the diet too) and toasted diet malted danish bread. I would make my own bread but whenever I've done that in the past the weight has piled on.

OH has sugar puffs - branded, and he won't give them up. Sigh.

I can't decide today........plus I am not sure if the bread is still edible , and trying not to spend anything not already planned for until 28th. If the bread is ok I have eggs and mushrooms so could have these on toast. If not I'm stumped as have no milk left for cornflakes.

It may end up being strawberries, grapes and ice-cream :)........but what I really fancy is bacon sarnie but avoiding shops.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.
