    Ooo! I've subscribed!!! How exciting!

I was very organised in the sales this year and so already have my Christmas Cards, (reduced to £2.50 for 30 at B00ts), and I have enough wrap for about 3 years I reckon!!! Went mad because I kept finding great bargains on gorgeous paper! So I'm banned from buying wrap for a long time!!! :rotfl:

I also bought some other bits in the sale, including some lovely ribbons, and gift stickers. Also some cut out lantarn things made of metal that you put a tealight in - haven't yet decided whether to give as gifts or keep for deccies!!!

    I love Christmas!!!

Oh and I have 3 small glass jars in the shape of snowmen which I plan to fill with *something* and give as gifts, and when I got my new cupboard in this house, there were two lovely square-ish kilner jars in there, quite big, that the landlady said I could have as the people who owned them have gone. So I plan to utilise them too! :T

    Oh Lord!!

I thought I was seeing things when I spotted that dreaded C word in the listings and thought nooooo it's a laugh surely!!

Look, September thats when I am going to start. If I see anything in the sales which I can put by for Christmas prezzies then all well and good - but beyond that - zippo, zilch, nadda, not a sausage!

And as for Christmas cake - last year I ended up eating it because no one else did and I thought what a waste. Guess what I put five pound on in weight as well, so this year no Christmas cake!

Yay, I wondered when I should start thinking about it, and I guess now's the time. I do already have a tab set aside in my day-to-day spreadsheet for presents, budgets and how far along with progress I am. Making an early start is the best way for stress-free for me!

The other large part of my Christmas preparations is going to be food. I want lots of nice stuff, but I'm not sure yet what we're actually doing so may need food that I can transport easily and cook elsewhere. So... another spreadsheet tab for "occasion food" (i.e., Christmas, but can also use it for parties that crop up) to account for cost, inventory, etc. Wow. I'm getting really nerdy about it!

Cards shouldn't be a problem as I bought some last year and we're still using them up. Going to go through them in the week and see what we've got, what could do with chucking and if I need to top any up, I shall get busy with a design package and might have a go at making my own! Wrapping paper is all taken care of ... last year's January sales has got me fully set with looooooooads of it. I take it off the rolls and fold it for easier storage, and then when needed if I don't want it creased I guess I could iron it. :D

I'm going to go off to plot quite happily now. Yay! Thanks Zippy for cheering me up after what's been a singularly stressful day!

    K xx

it is a laugh - if it's for you, join in, if not, don't worry :) I'm not about to start dragging the decs down from the loft, but i will be making an effort to do one thing a month. Chilli jam this month, flavoured booze the next etc.

it's all about going at your own speed, so just enjoy :)

PS - you could easily lose 5lb by christmas to enable more cake eating :rotfl:

What a fantastic post, I missed this last year. :j

We are camping:eek: over christmas and new year. (With electric of course):rotfl:

But it means we need to be ultra organised for finances sake with presents, as my job may also be coming to an end over chistmas as well so lots and lots of preperation this end.
