Monday again!!
I've managed a few good deals on TCB too lilt! Must have another look see what else I can scrounge....
Checked my online banking last night for Nationwide, and could see the credit card I'd applied for listed too!Told OH about getting the card and he didn't seem impressed. Even after I told him my reasons. He's just used dealing in cash and that's that. Oh well
As I said, I'll be paying it off weekly so no dramas.
Payday Friday next week. Seems a looooooooooong time coming!
Update!
Quiet night Friday
Saturday me and OH headed to visit mum and dad, then on in to London/derry. Chilled out Sat night with a couple drinks and a film.
Yesterday we had OHs mum and dad round for dinner. I am such a stress head :o Just need to teach OH to concentrate and stop watching/selling/talking bike stuffs when he should be helping me with dinner! Later on, OH, me and the girls headed off to Portstewart for cappuccinos and hot chocolate. Star Wars was on TV when we got back so chilled out again!
Was a good weekendSpendy. But good
You know my opinion on this....
I do, Bex. Appreciate it. As always
Thanks for the hugs and kisses:D Will send PMs to you both later today. Figure I'll try to get some work done first!!

Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Hmmmm just remembered I had THE most random dream last night...
I was lying on bed...
watching a DVD...
with Robert Downey Jnr...
naked...
:eek::eek:
Where that came from I have NO idea!! I was watching Star Wars last night, and Sunday is not my naked day!! :rotfl::rotfl:Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Thankfully no more random dreams since!! Although last night nearly turned into a nightmare...
Told OH before he went out that we needed to talk about...dun dun duuuuuuun.... the holiday.
Was 11.15pm before we actually had peace to chat. So I brought up the subject. Again. I asked if he was still interested to which he said yes. I did point out the obvious lack of interest showing from his side, and said that if he didn't want to go, let me know now as I've considered either going on my own or find someone else to go with. I got an 'Are you serious??' response to that, then within half a minute he said 'Fine! Go on your own. Turn out the light. I'm going to sleep!'
Oooooooooo-kay!
By this stage I was wide awake, so dragged the conversation back up again. He said about there not being anything for good price, and I asked how much looking had he actually done? 'Looked in one or two windows'.
Gee that's helpful! Not!
He said he wasn't spending £6-700 on a hol, plus £300ish spending, overall £1k for 'what??' (yet 3 weeks ago he spent £3k for another bike??) He said he'd spend £400, but anything over £500....
'Hello?!? My hols have to be taken in July. I don't have a choice!'
I said 'Ok. If we don't go this year, then I'll want to go next year. But considering I'll likely still be working for xxx then my hols will still be in July'
No response. He's probably watching his boys biking trip slip away... Ah darn!:rotfl:
I asked if he had any other ideas or suggestions.
'No'
Again, helpful. Not.
I mentioned at one point someone else giving off to me about considering going on my own, to which his response was 'Oh Right. So you've been talking to someone else about this then?!'
Ummmmm yeah! I keep getting asked how my plans are going. What am I sposed to say?!
Told him plenty people do it all the time. Said about 2 friends: one took a year out round the world, other year out in Australia. What was his response? 'They were travelling'
'!!!!!! is the difference?!?!?!? Hows anyone sposed to know if I'm travelling or holidaying!?!?!'
*rant over*
Reverse psychology? Maybe he was more shocked at the thought I actually considered going without him, rather than actually going on my own, if you get what I'm saying.
Any thoughts?!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Hi HAW, :hello:
Thoughts?
Well done! Can't have been an easy conversation when your DH is so reluctant to take on any decisions re this holiday.. Still, now you know [roughly] how much his share of the budget is - definitely a step forward.
I'd give him another chance; find an all-in deal you'd like and show him the details, preferably within a couple of days - so he doesn't fester for too long at the idea that you might actually go without him..
Good Luck!
Hey - have you got the Big Yellow Ball? Still absent here; it's rather refreshing.0 -
Hello Robin
There is never an easy convo with OH
Still struggling to find something half board/all inc from Belfast for a reasonable price. Some great deals on Groupon. It's getting to the place which is the problem
Compromise??
I'm considering Down South as an alternative. Have found a 4* hotel near Sligo for <£350 for 4 nights inc breakfast. We could climb BenbulbinSpied it last year when we were in Donegal with the girls, and we both wanted a closer look. Could be an option...
Then again... Maybe I shouldn't 'give in' so easily. Maybe I should push to go foreign. Maybe I should go on my own. Maybe I should see if I could get someone else to accompany me. Or maybe I should head away to a friends for a week instead.
Why does it have to be foreign? Well actually it doesn't. But here's my reasons:
-I haven't been foreign in 6 years.
-Last foreign holiday was a disaster and I'd like a better one!
-I'm with OH 2 years and we love exploring and walking so why not go somewhere totally new to us both?
-I want to see the world with OH.
-I (or 'we' maybe!) need a break.
-Would be nice to head somewhere there's a possibility of a little bit of sun.
-I don't have any debt and I'd be able to actually enjoy properly without worrying or stressing about money or counting the pennies.
-I work hard to get paid so I can enjoy life and do things and go places and meet people!
*sigh*
Will see how things goes tonight....Hey - have you got the Big Yellow Ball? Still absent here; it's rather refreshing.
Part of it at least! If it helps, I'll try to hang on to it for a bit longer. Know you sometimes struggle with too much heat!

Love this...
Wednesday again!!
Had a really good night with OHHad yummy spinach and ricotta pasta mixed with basil pesto, and garlic bread for dinner
Went out for a run on his bike and called at his mums for a cuppa. Then took the scenic route home...
Although there really wasn't much talk about the hol, it was interesting...
He'd brought home a travel/holiday flyer from inside a local newspaper, so that's another site [STRIKE]we've[/STRIKE] I've to check.
He was trying to get a hold of a guy he knows through work to see if he rents out the house that he has in some other country.
I know it's not a lot, but do you think I hit a nerve??:rotfl:
The other thing we figured out is that it would actually work out cheaper if I took a weeks unpaid leave later in the year. I know this sounds crazy, but if you work out roughly £250 loss in wages vs saving approx £300+ each on a hol, it's kinda a no-brainer. OH also said he would pay a bit extra towards spending money  (where'd my OH go?!?) Would need to have a word with my boss though to see if that would be possible.
Back to watching this space!
Meeting mum for lunch today. But also hoping for a NSD too. Not sure what way that will work...
Big yellow ball is darting in and out from behind the clouds today Robin. You still ok to do without?!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Your meal sounds gorgeous and the sunset picture is fab too.
Definitely think you've hit a nerve with OH. Good for you :j XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Well done HAW, holibob-gate has progressed significantly - stroke of genius to think of taking unpaid leave later in the year when flights are less extortionately expensive - love that idea!
:T
(Hope your boss goes for it).
Beautiful beach, smart bike - bet it shifts!

The hol conversation last night?
OH: 'You annoyed me when you said the other night about going on your own'
Me: 'I figured as much'
That was pretty much it! Still want to know why he was annoyed about it though  Save that convo for a 'good mood' day me thinks:)

Me too! Although was checking Teletext and there are a few at reasonable-ish prices in July so maaaaaaybe find something after all...Beautiful beach, smart bike - bet it shifts!

Does it shift?? In a word?:eek::eek::eek:
It's taken me a loooong time to get over my fear, but I can definitely see what the attraction is. Big adrenaline rush for sure!
One of the last times we were out he braked hard coming to the end of the road. I slid forward (I need leathers!). But he took off like a bullet and I couldn't get myself righted on the seat again. Started laughing. Laughed harder coz I knew he couldn't see/hear that I was laughing. Laughed harder coz I couldn't get myself fixed on the seat for laughing. Laughed harder coz I couldn't remember what I was laughing about. Laughed again coz then I remembered what I was laughing at. Laughed more coz I knew OH would be rolling his eyes at me when we got home. Honestly must've laughed for about 10 mins solid. The tears were tripping me!! When we got off the bike OH had to ask if I was ok! He heard something but couldn't work out if I was scared or enjoying it!!
*giggle*(oops! Had to catch myself there or my work colleague would be wondering why all of a sudden I'm finding my work so funny!!:D)Work away, HAW - please hang onto it as long as you can!
It's slipping away....
Managed a NSD today, but got lots of freebies:
1. 6" subway for lunch - enough points on my card!
2. 4 pack Coors Light - voucher from this thread
3. Cappuccino - bought by my SIL when I met her at lunch
4. Aero bun - as above!
I've Zumba tonight which I paid for on a concession card, so does that count as a freebie too?!
Seeing my friend tomorrow night so something of a (long overdue!) girlie nightLooking forward to catching up (and probably lots of ranting too!
)
How is everybody today??Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0
