Shocks from the cooker?!?! You need to be careful! Is it an electric hob or gas with an electric starter button? My button clicks incessantly when I switch it on at the plug so I have just switched it off & use one of those long lighters to light my hob. It gets signed off by the gas man each year. Go figure!

Glad the presentation has at least gone. Onto the next one ;)

You're right about not telling the girls about the internet. In our house 15gig would go in a couple of days most of the time. DH uses a heck of a lot between his group skype webcam calls with his mates, playing online on his PS3 near constantly apart from the 8 or so hours a week he is at work, & his downloading of music & UFC! I don't mind. He has no other vices really apart from smart price beans & sausages & super noodles :rotfl:

Hope you have had a good day. I should be asleep but everytime I go to post in my diary I find someone elses more interesting!

    Happy hump day :D

Built in electric hob and separate oven. It's as old as the hills though and we do need a new one. Just sooner rather than later. Although last night I managed to cook and serve dinner shock-free :D:D

Was never a fan of gas cookers until I moved into a house which had one. Have to say they're sooooooooooo handy! Very quick to heat up etc etc. It's just the gas bit that worries me (which you obviously can't really do without!! :o)

The girls are quite good ref the internet. I think they just forget that we've a limit to our data and their nan doesn't! FB and youtube would be their main sites! But had to put a stop to the hour long catch up shows!!! OHs sites would be Gumtree, Autotrader, eBay etc etc. And I check my email!! :)

And your diary is interesting!! :)

Never thought I'd say this, but I applied for a credit card!!:eek::eek: (and been accepted in principle!)
Reason being,[STRIKE] if [/STRIKE]when we're booking our holiday, when we're buying a new cooker/kitchen etc etc, it would be good to have extra protection. Both of us only have debit cards - OH has never actually had a cc (and I never wanted to see one again) But needs must. It's set up to be paid off in full. Actually went with Nationwide so I get 0.5% cashback too. It'll not be loads but it is free money ;) I could prob start using it for fuel/shopping etc too.

Had something of a  moment with OH last night :o Why do other females insist on putting 'x' on the end of texts to guys who aren't their OH?!

Anyway. It is Thursday today. Which means it's almost Friday. Which means it's also nearly the weekend. Not that I'm wishing my life away or anything :rotfl:

    Zumba tonight :j Can't wait :D

Fathers Day on Sunday so hopefully get to visit either Sat or Sun for a bit :) OH said about inviting his mum and dad around for dinner one of the days. That's fine. I just feel a bit :( that I'm not having my folks round too. Will have a think and chat to him later...

I mentioned to OH about calling in at TA yesterday ref hols. Didn't get much sign of interest off him. Didn't even get questioned as to where and how much the cheapest hol was. *sigh* I dunno...

  • Must admit I'm in the habit of signing all texts with Xx regardless of who they are to. Including DH's best friend, but it doesn't mean anything. I hope his girlfriend doesn't mind! You've got me thinking now!

Can you not have a buffet type affair or a bbq and invite both sets of parents.

Hugs re the holiday/brick wall scenario Xx (see, there I go again :rotfl:).

 Sorry! Didn't mean for that to happen! Don't you be thinking now!!
I think everybody has their own ideas/rules of what is and isn't acceptable in a relationship. I just know for me, personally, an 'x' from a girl is not acceptable. I trust OH 100%, but it's partly (possibly mostly?!) to do with my own insecurities/lack of confidence, coupled together with the mistrust of other females.
Our general rule of thumb is 'if you can't do/say/write it in front of me, then you shouldn't be doing/saying/writing it'
Can you not have a buffet type affair or a bbq and invite both sets of parents.

I don't see why there would be any problems having both sets around at the same time, other than it might look as if we had an announcement to make  (we don't before you ask!! lol :))
His mum and dad will be round Sat evening I think. I said to OH last night that its my mum and dads wedding anniversary near the end of the month, so we could have them round for dinner then :D Everyone happy :)

    :rotfl:

Thanks for the hugs! :) No mention of it last night coz I didn't see OH til very late and we just went to bed.
In saying that, we lay chatting for an hour which was lovely. Ended up getting into a rather deep conversation too!

Aaaaaah glad it's Friday :) It's been a long week and I'm absolutely knackered! Hopefully have a fairly quiet weekend, but just looking forward to the not setting the alarm for a couple of days :D

Have a brilliant weekend everyone!

    Happy Friday HAW! :hello:

 Am another one who sometimes ends texts with an 'x' - to male or female recipients. Use it in RL if the relationship is such that mate and I would greet or part with a hug.. It only means I think of them as a dear trusted friend, no more.

Only once did a GF object; but as I'd known her BF for over a decade longer than she had, the woman just had to understand that we'd had plenty of opportunities to 'misbehave' yet not done so - it is simply a platonic friendship.
In that case it was a sign of deep mistrust; the poor man was accused of 'mucking about' regularly, although [as far as I know] he never did. But she cheated on him - he found out when she gave him an STD!
(No, their relationship did not survive).

ETA: Cross-posted! Hope you have a lovely weekend, HAW :smileyhea

Agreed. But I know what my issue is with regards to that!
Yes it is possible to have a platonic relationship. I've had loads. However, OH 'knows what guys are like' and 'they're obviously only after one thing', so therefore it's not possible for ME to have a platonic relationship. But he knows that he himself wouldn't cheat, so he can have a platonic relationship!!
I've ended friendships with mates to stop any question mark hanging over my head. Yes it was my choice to delete numbers, but out of respect for OH and our relationship. Maybe I'm a bit miffed that I don't seem to be getting the same respect or reassurance back from OH....

Well then that puts a whole different slant on it! It's not fair at all for you to have forgone friendships and then for him to be texting other women .
