Thanks for the replies Skint and PLMBL, and thanks for understanding.
Now the hard part - to actually get OH interested in deciding where we're going and helping to book it!He usually leaves that all to me: the likes of our long weekend to Donegal last year or our one night away for crimbo or my birthday (yeah I had to pick it and book that myself!!)
Wouldn't mind so much if that was 'just him' and the way he works, but when all him and the guys talk about at boys club every week is their biking trip, or any time OH happens to bump into anyone in the street it's 'France' this or 'France' that, I just wanna :mad::eek:
I need him to show as much enthusiasm for our holiday as for this other one. I don't want to be the one prompting all the time. If he's not interested....???????
*sigh*
Anyway, on a brighter note, I LOVE my new straighteners!!Def money well spent!
Hope the sun is shining for everyone :cool:Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Woohoo! Got my 'Debt-free and Proud!' badge!
*ahem*
Aaaanyway! Said to OH last night that on Saturday we'll head into town and go round a few travel agents and see what we can get sorted for the summer! Getting excited!!
Happy Thursday everybody!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Hi HAW, :hello:
Agree with everyone else that it will do you and DH a world of good to get away by yourselves. DSD2 could always go on one of those organised kids holidays - YHA used to offer a great selection - as she's not old enough to stay with her big sister, who will doubtless really enjoy a taste of 'adult freedom' looking after herself while you're away.HeadAboveWater wrote: »I need him to show as much enthusiasm for our holiday as for this other one. Erm, some blokes really run short on imagination when asked to plan anything except their ideal holiday. If that's the way your DH is, then no point in going without because he doesn't want to plan it.
I once persuaded a recalcitrant boyfriend to accompany me to Italy by dangling the promise of a tour round his favourite bike factory as one of the planned activities. Which took a fair bit of organising because it wasn't actually open to the public - case of 'who one knows'- but made it an extra special trip which I also really enjoyed; BF then behaved himself for the rest of the week, lol. :rotfl:

Hi Robin
Glad you're in agreement too! I dunno. I guess I felt it just sounded really selfish so was almost expecting a barrage of abuseThankfully not. And it does help when people are familiar with our circumstances so can see where I'm coming from
(thank you everyone!!)
Will have a long think about the girls and ask what they maybe want to do. I'm guessing we'll be able to get enough sleepovers and stuff for them arranged so that they'll be having their own wee adventure while we're away!Erm, some blokes really run short on imagination when asked to plan anything except their ideal holiday.
Hmmmm... thanks for the insight!!Bottom line? Men are weird! :rotfl: Will def not let him put me off!!
Funny, Italy is one place both me and OH have always wanted to visit, since before we even met! I liiiiiiike the idea of a bike factory tourBologna anyone?! Either that or head to see the Moto GP (why the heck am I even thinking of arranging stuff to do on OUR holiday to suit HIM?!
)

Ah good stuff!!
Just in time for the weekend too!!
Hopefully going out for dinner tonight, otherwise pretty much got no plans for the loooooong weekend!!
Happy Friday everybodyWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Dinner Friday night was good IMO, not-so-good in OHs opinon, but somewhat overpriced (over £30 for 2 adults and 2 kids to get burgers and chips?!?)
Icecream after which was yummy(oh! and got an extra (free!) scoop coz it was the last out of the tub!)
Saturday I went out for a run. 2+1/2 miles  Have to admit I did have to walk 3 times for about 30 secs to stop myself from passing out!!Felt good though
Saturday afternoon we headed into town. Bought myself a waterproof coat from Trepass (£40 down from £90!), and 2x Bench tops from TK Maxx (£10 total instead of rrp total of £55!). Plus coffees. Plus shopping in Asda on way home (approx £8.50 for 31 items!!). So yeah, unfortunately a very spendy day, but that's me done for a while now!!
Had the house to ourselves again (!!) so me and OH got rather drunk Sat night!! Have to say we both had a really good nightNo hangovers Sunday thankfully!!
Was looking at holidays with OH. A bit stuck. I have to take off the July fortnight which is unfortunately the most expensive time of year. Question is, should we risk just a last minute booking and get something cheap (we're NI don't forget!!)? We're not too fussy on where we go. Just somewhere 'away', sunny and scenic5 or 7 days is fine. Don't need a crazy night-life. Don't need sun loungers. Suggestions on a postcard please?!?
NSD Sunday
Yesterday we took the girls to the Port for a hot chocolate in the afternoon. Was a lovely day for it have to say, and the town was very busy. Nice
And back to work today....
But another NSD which is great! Can't wait til Friday - payday!!
