Yep - stitched up with a £260 limit.

Why did they bother letting letting me have the card in the first place?

I shall enjoy cancelling my barclaycard for the second time!

I'm guessing they only have so much cash to lend out at 0% for 12 months and when that limit was hit they killed the balances offered - though I'm not sure if it was first come, first served?

Wonder whether Barclaycard gave lower credit limits to people who said they wanted to transfer other credit card balnces? I specifically said that I didn't want a Balance Transfer and seem to have been given a comparatively high credit limit.

I put on the form that I wanted to transfer a balance and I got a £3500 limit.
I'm so sexy it's a wonder my underpants don't explode.
  • I filled in the app online and l didn't see a section about BT. I completed it on the 19th and l just waiting for the t+c in the post now.

How long did this take other people from date of sign up to getting card via online sign up??
    Sense is not common.

Did anyone see the article on The Sunday Times about this offer.

Aparently they're getting stick because you get charged a 2% charge (up to £35) when you do a balance transfer, UNLESS you applied via a branch.

    Can anyone confirm this?

I thought it was a bit suspicious!

This is part of the article (I hope it doesn't contravene copyright) - go to https://www.timesonline.co.uk for the whole story:

    Hi.

Noticed the chat about mean credit limits from BC and just thought I would that I got my new card in the post today (after a bit of wait, about a month since I applied online) and it seems that I got someone nice at BC processing my application as I have been given a credit limit of £4700. I only wanted about £1300 as that is what I wanted to transfer for elsewhere so I have some to spare which is nice to know incase I need it.

    Regards

    Andrew.

I applied for a Barclaycard several weeks ago and completed the form for a £2500 balance transfer. Judging by the low credit ratings people have been getting, does that mean some of the debt will be charged interest straight away? If that's the case I will apply for another 0% credit card immediately.

No. If they give you a credit limit lower than the amount you have asked to transfer they simply will not do the transfer (at least that would it says on the paperwork).

    Best Regards

    Andrew.
