But you can pay for such prompt service, see signature below
For the car I'd look at getting cash to play with. Car dealers will probably charge a surcharge that outweighs the value of any points and not too many private sales can accept credit cards (ye ken?)
P.S.

???
this barclaycard offer seems ideal, but I have an £8500 debt on an £11500 limit with natwest card, my wife is an additional card holder. I see that £5000 is the maximum transfer value
is it possible to create two balance transfers from my existing natwest account and create two new barclaycard accounts - one in my name and the other in my wife's, splitting £5000 and £3500, or is there a better way of doing this?
appreciate some help for a newbee with debt0 -
I'd suspect that two applications from spouses would have an effect on each other - the second would probably get a lower limit? Its hard to say. Again I'd be tempted to suggest MBNA as they are more generous more often and also have a 12 month 0% offer.0

FINALLY I received my new Barclaycard - haven't activated it yet. I can't find anything in the terms and conditions about only being able to balance transfer 90% of the credit limit at 0%. Have they dropped that restriction? Can I BT the whole (not very generous) credit limit at 0%?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. The %age limit was never in the T&C, I think it remains as an "operating policy".0

I thought Barclaycard offered the same terms as MBNA. Ive just completed a BT from MBNA with the intention of being able to set a a mini cash isa. Ive had my first statement through and they want me to pay 2% or the minimum amount. I was under the impression i would be able to pay just £5 like mbna and egg. Can anyone clarify this for me?0

"I thought Barclaycard offered the same terms as MBNA"
Any reason why? I think you'll find that MBNA are unique in the application of truly minimal minimum payments.0
