It is however the responsibility of customers to check themselves that their DD and SO have been processed correctly.
Yeah, but the problem with this is you can't check if its been processed correctly and currently the bank can't either tell you or check this either. All they say to me is that outgoing payments will be processed and don't try to resubmit them.0 -

I think the suggestion is that you check that the recipient has received the payment, especially if it was meant to be paid by DD/SO. This is particularly so for critical payments like credit card bills, insurance etc.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Ironically I moved my RBS account to a branch in Edinburgh to avoid being taken over by Santander. As I'm in south of england, this wouldn't be much good if i needed cash. Luckily it's not my main account any more.
(I did wonder at the time about not having a branch i could go to, but decided it didnt matter)0 -
So funny it needed posting twice

A week later since the problems started and currently around £2000 is missing from my account and the bank are still unable to tell me where it is or when its likely to be sorted.
My rent hasn't been paid, loan payments haven't been paid. Payments that have gone out have effectively taken my balance to zero.
They told me things would be sorted out in a few days, that was Tuesday. Now the weekend is here and I have no idea when I am going to get any money :-(0 -
I run a pair of mobile shops and take payments by card via Natwest Streamline.
They have failed to pay me for any card payments since Monday leaving me over £6000 out of pocket.
And can not get hold of anyone on the phone. Thanks and see you in court Natwest:mad:0 -
Last Sat I deposited £200 cash in my branch machine. I could view this transaction online the following day, but since then there is no longer record of this transaction. Concerned and frustrated because not only was a struggling to get online with Natwest I was also on holiday. On Thurs I found two Natwest branches one was closed and the other only had two staff available and a very big queue. I was told that I wasn't the only person in this position and to check in a few days. I also enquired about a standing order that is supposed to be going out the following day. I was reassured that as I have sufficient funds there is no reason why it wont be payed. Have looked this evening because I haven't been able to get onto Natwest online during the day and the payment has not gone out. This means the nursery who it was meant to be going to will now charge me £7 per day until they are payed. It's not as if I can pay the nursery tomorrow as they are closed.
I understand that I can claim my money back at some point but surely it shouldn't still be happening.0 -
My mother paid £250 cash into my Natwest bank account on Wednesday and it is still not showing on my account!! Nat west are lying to their customers. The issues cannot be 99% resolved. If the funds are not on the account Monday I will write a formal complaint and threaten the Financial Ombudsman Service. I will get compensation one way or another!0

RBS claimed that 100 million transactions needed to be recovered - so there's 1 million still to get through.
You'll need to go through the Bank's complaint process before you go to the FOS.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
