MSE News: NatWest customers in lurch after meltdown

I'm with RBS and so it the company I work for. I'm due to be paid in two days so I really hope it's fixed by then. I've had an expensive month and I've gone into my overdraft which I don't normally do.0

I had two cheques go through my account which have taken me overdrawn. These are showing online as going through on the 22nd (which was the Friday the system was down). I've asked for them to be stopped or even bounced, but, NOOOOO, they are showing as being paid, and it's too late! Amazing how, if I go overdrawn by £1 the payment is normally stopped. Natwest have "kindly" said that there "shouldn't" be any charges!0

However, I think the crucial thing is that I had the balance to support all these payments and was not dependent on a credit being received in the past week or so. I think this is a key factor ....
I don't think its a key factor..
My account has enough in it, but direct debits have been taken, then disappeared then reappeared etc over the last few days.
Most have now been received by the company that requested them, but DDs from Friday are yet to show on my online banking, all other days have caught up and show correctly.
I would check that if you had DD or other payments going out over the last few days that they have been received ok.

Who died and made you forum Lord....
Everyone is entitled to their opinion
not sure if you saw the post this was answering, ToeJam? its been thankfully deleted now, but it was in response to a post by a newbie who claimed to work for the bank involved and was designed to upset and frighten people0 -
Just wondering when thy will take the temporary credit back?rbs put 360 in my bank to cover some direct debits as wages hadn't gone in. It's still showing dont fancy ringing them was on hold for 40 mins last time!0

Partner hasn't been paid and is stressing about his credit rating. He had some debt problems but has been working hard to improve his credit rating.
I'm in RBS and i have had no problems with my wages (we both work for the same NHS trust) or payments.
So natwest problems are still persisting. I think RBS management are performing poorly at the moment, if I wasn't already being made to move to Santander, I'd change banks anyway.
I'd think twice about moving to Santander... they're getting above their station and their idea of customer care is a joke...! We've been waiting for a refund of PPI since the beginning of May and been promised 'sorry, we didn't have your account details (even though my wife actually banks with them) but we have them now... it'll be in your account in 48 hrs' ... yeah, right... 16 phone calls and nearly seven weeks later only to be told the same thing over and over again... useless...!! But, what am I thinking... they need to make as much money as possible from the interest while holding MY money... they need to fund obscene bonuses from somewhere...!!Marge... if the bible has taught us nothing else, which it hasn't, it's that girls should stick to girls sports like hot oil wrestling, foxy boxing and such and such...! It might be a good idea to 'quote' the post you're answering to avoid any confusion. Just a thought.Marge... if the bible has taught us nothing else, which it hasn't, it's that girls should stick to girls sports like hot oil wrestling, foxy boxing and such and such...! Homer Simpson0 -

Transactions disappearing are because they're having to "roll back" some of the data files previously loaded, in order to process other files that should have been loaded beforehand, but failed. Once the earlier files are loaded, I'm sure we'll see these later transactions reinstated.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

Also, online banking does not reflect what's on the Bank's main account systems. The two have to be synchronised and if changes are being made to the main system "behind the scenes", these may not yet appear online.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
