Thanks for the reply TheBanker . My card has worked fine until tonight, and the staff gave me no warning that it may be declined so you can imagine my embarrassment not so much with the staff but the long queue of customers behind me , especially as Nat West have said in the press that the issues are nearly resolved which they are obviously not .
I suppose we're all different and get embarrassed or upset by different things. Your post has actually served as a useful warning anyway - my card has been working fine since Saturday so I thought all was well. However I have to buy train tickets in the morning so will make sure I have a different card. I don't work for Natwest but my journey is to a meeting to discuss Natwest. It would be a sweet irony if I missed it because Natwest wouldn't let me pay for my ticket0 -

:rotfl:Well I'm glad you know now . I wonder how long this new issue will take to resolve . It's saved me £32.00 tonight very MSE, but tomorrow will be a 12 mile round trip to use a cash machine :)Never tell .0 -

Oh dear, you must live in the middle of nowhere. Hope things work for you tomorrow. Hope the cash machine works when you get there...0 -
Still not fixed for me - No family allowance went in for me yesterday and my wages are supposed to go in tomorrow.
A cheque of mine bounced to my daughters school, and I have to pay the rent. Starting to get really frustrated. I wish they would stop telling people its fixed when it clearly isnt.Total 2019: £3972 - Best win this year £3000
2018 total £4062/2017 total £2260/ 2016 total £2025/ 2015 total £3809.0 -
I've had zero problems with my account and thought myself lucky.
Until today!
I know I've used my debit card a few times this week but these transactions haven't come out of my account. A direct debit has come out though. I have no idea what my actual balance is supposed to be.
I did just transfer £10 from savings account into current account and it went through fine and is showing online.
Not a clue what's going on! I'm due to be paid on Friday, it'd better be there!0 -
Mine was working ok, and i got paid today as expected, i went to tesco yesterday and made a debit card transaction, this would usually reduce my available funds, but at the moment its not showing !0

This is precisely the time when it pays to track your own balance - via MS Money, spreadsheet etc.
In addition, such tracking will be invaluable in reconciling whether RBS/NW/Ulster bank have actually reflected all the transactions in your account - when it's all finally up and running.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Hi
I am due to be paid tomorrow and whilst I am not an RBS or Natwest customer (my account is wth Halifax) my employers bank through RBS.
Does anyone know if I will be affected?! Really hope not because in desperate need of money!
Thanks in anticpation

I contacted NatWest Assist asking them if they could guarantee my next direct debits and standing orders due out on 1st July would be processed correctly. The reply I got did not answer my question - it seemed just a non commital standard reply.
I have contacted the providers of my endownment policies to question what would happen if my direct debits are rejected. They were aware of the issue and will contact customers if the usual direct debit or standing order does not go through. It is however the responsibility of customers to check themselves that their DD and SO have been processed correctly.
Imagine defaulting on a long running policy payment - I hate to think what lies in some of the small print.0 -
I had no problems until yesterday when money I had deposited (Cash) into my account last week suddenly disappeared along with outgoing payments such as rent, shopping, etc.
I went into the bank and they can find no record of any money being put into my account, luckily I kept a receipt, but with my pay due in soon and money still missing from my account I am less than confident.
The problems for me only started occuring after they said 99% of issues had been resolved.
Bank told me outgoing payments will be honoured and the cash will turn up in my account eventually.
Thanks Natwest0
