For anyone worried about direct debits leaving your account - my airtricity bill was due to be paid by direct debit on 29th June. The payment isn't showing on my account but when I login to airtricity's website I can see they received the payment on time. So it looks like direct debits are still being paid.

That's good news! Non-payment of recurring debits with all the knock-on effects was my big worry.

Luckily I have plenty in the account to cover a month's outgoings even without the salary showing up (a week and half late so far) but many might not be in such a position.

According to the Nolan show on Radio Ulster it seems as if it could be next Monday before they're up to date - I'm really suprised that there hasn't been more of an uproar in the media about this.

Wonder if it is a good time to ask for a business loan?

I was just watching the RTE lunchtime news. They are saying Ulster Bank have no idea when the system will be working properly North and South

,,Ulster Bank says normal service will take 'some further time' ''

,,Ulster Bank today said it has made "steady progress" over the weekend to resolve its payments backlog, but "normal service" has not yet resumed.''

progress? What progress?! I do not see it!

,,Electronic payments are being received into accounts but they are delayed. If your salary, pension or welfare payment was due to be paid into your account before Thursday 21st, this is now in your account balance. If you were due to receive your salary via an electronic payment between Thursday 21st and Friday 29th June these may not yet be in your account.''

My payment were due on 2day and i still do not see it... joke!!!

So this morning on Nolan Show a representative from Ulster Bank said he could not confirm that the problems would be resolved by NEXT monday....... now on u.tv they are saying

"We target that customers should see their balances updating during the coming week"

Bit like left hand not knowing what right hand is doing.
