Ulster/RBS Bank problems

Finally got my wages today. They were due Wednesday last week.0

I had an old account with Alliance and Leicester so I got that back in action again, got wages etc all changed over to it. I know at work 90% of people who bank with Ulsterbank have got there wages switched over to another bank, This is gonna hit Ulster Bank hard.
I've done this too. What a shambles. Some issues to be aware of
1. I have heard several reports of accounts being charged with payments shown as debit card payments which the account holder disputes. Some have been overseas when the account holder was clearly in this country. Check your accounts carefully when information is eventually updated.
2. Direct debits appear to have been paid by Ulster Bank but do not - as yet - show on the account. Some people have utility bills set up in such a way that they are charged monthly via a debit card as opposed to a direct debit. These are not being paid if there do not appear to be available funds in the account. I have seen emails people have received from utility providors saying payment has been refused.
3. Be very careful from a security point of view when leaving an Ulster Bank branch with cash. Most people leaving will be carrying cash and are potentially an easy target.
All excellent points but especially this one. I withdrew cash yesterday and was terrified walking the 10 yards to Santander to lodge it!!! :eek:tony_cluedo wrote: »I'm with Ulster Bank. This whole current fiasco has me leaving them. I was in the Co-Op bank today and think I'll go with them.
I had a couple of questions about their accounts. Firstly the Privilege account you pay £9.50 a month for. I need to get an annual travel insurance policy which account would provide. Has anone experience of the Co-Op policy? Same thing with the mobile phone insurance offered?
Also I would like to know my right in accessing my money at Ulster Bank. I have been in branch and they gave me £300 in cash based on my wage slip. Can I go in and withdraw all my wages? I think they have a £1200 daily limit so I'd need to do this in 2 lots. What if they say no? Is there any laws governing what a bank can do regarding my money? Are they legally required to give me my money when I ask for it?
Cheers
I withdrew almost my entire June salary yesterday (over £2,000), so if you need it all, insist on withdrawing it all. I wasn't taking no for an answer!!7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Looks like the is movement on the payment front, money has left my account, going by the balance, but it's not showing on the statement.I think it'll take the bank a lot longer to process the payments made over the counter...0
