I realised today that the Autumn Equinox is on Saturday 22nd Sept - 3 weeks today.
As I go back to work on Monday I thought I'd set myself a little 3 week challenge to get me to the end of this Frump to Fab session.

Its only 3 weeks so I'm not going to suddenly run a marathon or have an overnight facelift so what can I do......?
I'm thinking 3 things to focus on for 3 weeks, so here goes.....

    1. Be able to run more than 6K without stopping in a fairly respectable time (thats adding 1K to where I am at the moment, working towards a 10K run for charity on March 1st)
    2. Get under 10 stone - that means another 3lbs to go and would be a total loss of 20lbs
    3. Do 3 things that I wouldn't usually do - maybe go out somewhere different, do a different activity, be a bit brave .....

Anybody fancy joining me with your own mini goals for the next 3 weeks? They don't have to be exercise/weight related, they could be as simple as getting your hair done, trying a new look or decluttering your home.
You may well give me some ideas to steal:D

WW - just want to wish you Good Luck for the 5k tomorrow. You go girl.

    Maman - great bargain.

Baby Mad - Welcome aboard, you've made a cracking start.

Bitsy - shame about the night out.

Lizzie - So glad you enjoyed your trip to London. :T:T on stepping out of your comfort zone.

PP - try not to let your horrid uncle spoil things. I agree with Bitsy - just ask him to explain what he means exactly - that should take the wind out of his sails.

Well Ladies I feel poleaxed. It's been just one damned thing after another this last couple of days. Most of it involves my darling OH and his care. I've had the usual fruitless goose chase trying to get his repeat prescription, plus endless problems with the care home this week - from the downright silly - them losing four pairs of his trousers to the more serious return of pressure sores.

His favourite carer and nurses are exemplary, most are "ok" but a couple of them are lazy, incompetent, rude and surly. I've caught a couple of them red-handed this week treating my OH in a very cavalier fashion. They then have the audacity to just lie to me and try to bluff their way out of it. They forget that although he may not be able to communicate effectively to them - he still has all his faculties and he can still communicate well enough with me.

One of them got such a shock the other day, she told me a pack of lies, in front of him. I could see by his expression he was outraged because she was lying. I questioned OH in front of her and got the truth. She got all flustered and tried to back down and change her story. She must think OH and I are a couple of morons.

I feel absolutely drained. I'm not sure whether I am going down with a lurgy but I just feel terrible - all fluey and yukky. It's probably "just" stress. We all know how that can make us feel.

So WW - a three week mini challenge.....

Funnily enough I've been thinking along these lines today - trying to work out where the h*ll I go from here.

The fact is something has got to give.

I need to take what our dear old colleague Sophisticat used to call "Massive Action". I need to make some drastic changes but I'm not sure where to start, and quite what that massive action will be.

So over the next 3 weeks I think I will try and do the following:-

    1. Get organised - so first of all I am going to write a list.
    2. Delegate - buy in some help - I'm totally overwhelmed and am fed up with running around like a headless chicken getting nowhere.
    3. I need to free some space and time so I can free my mind to just think.
    4. When I've thought things through - draw up a plan.

But first tomorrow I am going to have a day off - s*d everything. I am going to watch my niece compete in her showjumping.

I've promised her and I will not disappoint her. I know there will be other times but a promise is a promise. Anyway a day off and some fun will do me good.

Sorry for the mini rant - it's just a chance to let off steam and clear my head a little.

    Thanks for "listening";)
  • Aww, LL I am so sorry to hear about the problems with your OHs care. These things can be so frustrating and draining. I hope things get sorted out soon and best of luck with your 3 week goals.

I love the idea of setting mini goals for the next 3 weeks. Mine are
    1. Lose 6 - 8lbs
    2. Get a job back in teaching.
    3. Make a plan to upgrade the house for sale.
  • Jogs panting into the room......

I DID IT!!! My first 5K race is over - hurrah! I managed to run all the way, took 1 min off my best practice time and finished in the middle of the pack (not the puffing tailender I thought I'd be!).:j:j
Now my time will never be brilliant, I'm not the right shape for a runner (big hips, short legs, sound gorgeous don't I!) but I'm focussing on doing the distance and keeping going for as long as I can not breaking world records;) Onwards and upwards!
The next goal is 6K on a training run, should be quite doable as I've done 5.2K already, just another couple of minutes to plod.
Don't tell anyone but I actually quite enjoyed it :p, running used to be thought of as torture and only to be endured when being chased by a lion (not that you get many of those in South Manchester:rotfl:).

LL - I think you need a break. Could you visit your friend again or book a few days away in the sun just to get your breath back and have time to think? Hope you have a relaxing time today watching the gee gees.

Allie - loving your goals, aiming high!

Back to work tomorrow:eek:. I have done loads of work to prepare but there's always more that could have been done, at least its INSET tomorrow to find my feet a bit before the screaming hordes arrive on Tuesday (and that's just the 6th form!).
The rest of the day will be spent doing a little bit of work, taking the dog for a nice long walk somewhere, he only had a 15 min stroll this morning as I didn't want to wear out my legs before the run!), popping to the supermarket for some packed lunch bits and general faffing about.

Hope everyone else had a good day!

Hello, long time no speak!! I have been reading but not posting didn't really have anything to say.

Had to come on here and congratulate WW on her 5k well done, you an inspiration to me. One day I might get there.

I will join the 3 week challenge.

    1. Will lose 6lb's
    2. Start Zumba - new classes start at leisure centre on Wed
    3. Start Spinning - as above.
    4. Smile!!!

Well the summer hols are nearly over DD goes Thursday - first day at secondary school and i'm already having dreams about it, she is very excited. DS goes on Friday, he's starting year 11 (where have those years gone) don't think he realises how tough I'm going to be on him this year. I want him to do well and as he wants to be a primary school teacher he's going to have to work hard. Can't believe he wants to be a teacher up to year 5 I had to drag him screaming and kicking everyday to school. How he's changed.

Hugs to LL and anyone else that needs them.

Will promise to post abit more in the next 3 weeks I want to reach my 6lb goal.

Have a good day all xx
