I've only bl*ody well done it! Lost 2.5 lbs and got to my stone!:j:j:j
Last week I'd lost 1.5lbs but only recorded 1lb as you couldn't have half lbs on MFP but today the scales said exactly a stone lost. I got on and off 5 times and it didn't change! Odd really as I felt quite bloated yesterday - think that was the last of the hormones working their way through, all gone this morning.

I'm soooperdooper pleased as it my hols on Tuesday and I feel so much better thinking that I have lost a stone:)

I'm 10 stone 5 now and think that a few more lbs could go so will now aim for 9 st 13, just so I'm 9 stone something:rotfl: I'm 5ft5 and a stocky sort of build so that's thin for me, any less is not sustainable, and 20lbs lost is a nice round number;)

So after all of that excitement, whats on the agenda for today? Some exercise later (can't decide between between running/swimming today), lots of dog walking, bit of ironing, schoolwork and need to pop to the bank.

EH - hope you have a better day today - I agree with the others, take stock, and dive in and have a go at applying for new jobs. What have you got to lose? Good luck.

Don't forget - go out there and knock 'em dead. Hot and sunny today so will give the white jeans an airing.

WW - :j:j:j:j:T:T:T:T on the weight loss.

EH - hope you have a better day.

Sitting here - multi tasking, hair removal cream on legs, and asprin face mask on .

Well I've just put myself on the scales :eek::eek:

Back up to 13stones, and at 5'7" that's waaay too much. No wonder my poor bones hurt so much.

My body shape is or rather should be slender and athletic with long legs, rather short body by comparison with er hem a generous bosom. The problem with such a shape is I don't actually look as if I am particularly overweight - people are astonished when I tell them how much I weigh. I look nearer 11 stones. I guess that has made me a bit complacent about my size and weight. However I don't feel good and I know it's not healthy.

So Today - I am fasting......

I've tried to read up about the 5:2 fasting thing and there seems to be so much conflicting information so I'm just going to do what I think I can cope with.

2 fast days but not consecutive - these will be my at home days ie when I just nip out to local shops or whatever

600 cals on fast days split over 2 meals, brunch and supper
I just know I couldn't do one meal

on normal days try to stick around 1800 cals max (unless it's a high day or a holiday;) - cutting out rubbish.

    Watch this space ...

Back again - had to dash off to rinse off the face mask.

I loved Batman last night - Christian Bale was looking good too. I know he has a reputation for being rather "difficult" and for being a bid of an oddball but he can deliver the goods.

Does anyone remember a film called "Empire of the Sun" It was his first major starring role - he was only a young boy at the time but he was riveting in that. What always amazes me about Bale is his ability to transform himself. I know it's an actor thing but the way he can change not just his facial appearance but also his body shape is astonishing.

Now I don't aspire to a "pumped up hero body" but I really do want to make some serious improvements so I'm going to start exercising more seriously, although not on fast days of course. Our Olympic athletes have inspired me too. ;) They have wonderful bodies.

I'm so proud of Team GB and although I'm not a watch sports on TV kind of person I have dipped in and out of the coverage. I've loved the horsey stuff of course. I'm looking forward to the closing ceremonies - more fireworks???

If anyone is interested Sainsbury's have reduced their Olympic themed stuff - bought DS1 a beach towel yesterday. He was really chuffed.

Anyway mustn't sit here chatting all day - work to be done. A garden day and some paperwork.

Good luck with the fasting LL - remember to drink lots of fluids.
I know what you mean about the Olympics - I was one of those "waste of money" type of people but have been really impressed by the way we've managed to pull it off - fingers crossed nothing happens between now and Sunday but there's been no security issues (that we know of), the events all seem to have gone without a hitch and the country has come out of it looking really good- loads of support by normal people on the streets, the ticketing problem sorted out fairly quickly and the venues look fab. Well done GB and all who sail in her!
And Wales got their first gold medal yesterday - by a WOMAN!
I love the fact that the girls have won the cycling, rowing, boxing, tae kwon do, horsey things (against men) etc. Brilliant to see fit, healthy, strong women who all scrub up quite well too!

Just back from the park and its boiling already - looks like a day for the garden.....

ETA - saw this yesterday and thought it may be useful for someone? Its a free entry pass for one person to National Trust properties (there are quite a few exemptions so check the list first).

WW :j:j well done you go girl :T:T

Wearing a nice maxi dress today. Battling some head gremlins about weight this morning......note to self step away from the scales. Think I am going to hide them again as its messing with my head. Anyway it's a beautiful day, got housework to do so had better crack on :)

Have a fab day all :D

Not seen the "Machinist" but the boys mentioned it last night, about his weight loss for that. Method acting taken a bit far I think, can't be healthy.

Last night he went from skinny, bent double with a crippled leg to his normal gorogeous bodied super hero. The wonders of cinema. :D

I agree best to avoid the scales if they upset you, concentrate on how you feel. You can disguise how you look with clothes.

As I said people never guess my weight because I have learned how to camouflage dress and hide my excess poundage. Nicely cut clothes and good tailoring can take at least a stone off me.

Here is what works for me at the moment, again 5"7", 13 stone, big boobs, and a tendency to a double chin.

My look at the moment is boot cut trousers, or jeans, with either a long line cardigan or fitted jacket, all in the same colour to make me look taller and slimmer. So blue denim jeans with a similar colour cardigan, or brown jeans with brown cardigan. Top to toe matching colour can help you look a lot thinner because it doesn't visually cut you in half and gives a more streamlined look.

Then a loose fitting top to hide the bulges. At the moment I'm finding patterned ones quite successful because they seem to deceive the eye so you don't notice any tubby tummies or muffin tops. Because of my generous bosom I go for "v", or scoop necks, never a high round neck.

I wear a small heeled shoe, about 1.5" to 2" - unfortunately I can't do killer stilletoes any more. I find a heel adds height and continues with the illusion of making me look slimmer.

I don't have any maxi dresses at the moment, but I would imagine they would help achieve a similar effect, by sticking with the top to toe colour rule. I might try one.

You can use jewellery too to add interest and draw the eye away from problem areas. For example if you have a double chin then don't wear choker necklaces, wear something longer perhaps with a pendant. If you have chubby fingers avoid rings and wear a nice cuff bracelet instead.

    Hope that helps anyone.

Hello all, just a quick update as I'm at work, I've been doing 1200 cal per day on myfitnesspal since Monday. It's been quite good, I've been having breakfast every day before work rather than snacking at work, been eating healthily -mainly chicken &salad &jacket potatoes, and feel good, less tired.

I've got a bbq tonight and wanted some encouragement so I don't fall off the wagon, so hopped on the sales this morning - they say I've lost 4.5lbs since Monday!

How brilliant Faithless! Definitely motivation to carry on!

Just had a trying on session of my work clothes - some size 10 trousers that I have never worn and they fit! And a size 10 pencil skirt suit (again probably only worn a handful of times) that also fits well. Some of my suits are now way too big and I found a pair of tailored linen trousers that have only been worn once and they fit too!
Will need to buy some new work wear for Sept - don't want to look bigger than I am now by wearing things that are swamping me.:T
Will have to rob a bank:rotfl:

I agree with the colour blocking that LL describes - it does make you look thinner. And lookng thinner means feeling better regardless of weight so can only be a good thing.

Off to spend the afternoon in the garden getting a head start on the tan - s*d the schoolwork for now, am in too much of a good mood.:rotfl:

    Hi all,

EH - hope you're feeling a bit brighter today hun x

ww - well done :T:j on the weight loss - fantastic and totally deserved for all the work you've put in!

I braved the scales this morning and are saying 2lbs down this week :j am quite shocked as had a very unhealthy weekend so must only be from the last few days. I did put a pound on last week, so only 1lb down really but it's going in the right direction! Was going to walk home from work yesterday and then thought 'stuff' it' and tried the first day of C25K instead - managed to get through it though must admit was a bit red sweaty mess by the end :o The worse bit was actually the 15 min walk to get home at the end, could feel my legs getting a bit of a wobble :rotfl:Still, will try and stick with it this time! Dyed my hair last time, is meant to be dark cherry, not as bright as it looked on the packet but is quite nice, more a very dark, almost black with a red tint in the light. Will try and get round to my nails today :)
