Hello from New York everyone!
I'm doing lots of walking around to keep my exercise up and hopefully burn off all the food I'm eating :rotfl:
WW-did you to unicorn? I love that place! I love their chickpea sticks and the garlic ones too. It's such good value for loads of stuff that they sell in bags. It's so much cheaper than in supermarkets!
Well done on the run too! 6 months is plenty of time!0 -
ooh evilsquid, enjoy New York! You must try Maxie's bar in Times Square for awesome cheesecake (a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge or around Central Park will work it off!)0

:T:T:T me too! Well done you. You've got more than 6 months to get in training. Your life seems almost unrecognisable from just a few months ago. :T:T:T
I know - bonkers isn't it? Life begins at 40 ladies!
Thank you to everyone that has said they'll sponsor me - I'll set up a sponsor page nearer the time (around Xmas probably) and remind you all then! Although I have a feeling that you'll be suffering through the training with me!evilsquid1603 wrote: »Hello from New York everyone!

Ooooh get you in the Big Apple! Hope you're having a lovely time? The Natural History Museum is my all time ever favourite place. I second the cheesecake suggestion - in fact its an order! Go get some - yummy! The portions are ginormous though (even better!)
LL - good luck with the cal counting - I really do find it works and I understand why, so it makes sense to me. Try www.myfitnesspal.com to help. It even has activities like gardening and sex (not that I need that one!) to help you calculate the number of cals you've used up. You give it your starting details (height, weight, age etc) and it suggests a number of cals to aim for each day. Don't forget that you're supposed to eat at least some of the cals you "earn" through exercise. It does work.
Been for a 45 min walk with the dog and legs are looser now - now its tea time and I'm flipping starving. Better get the cooker on before I scoff biscuits.0 -
Not much to report today after a very boring day at work. Did day 3 of Shred after work which cheered me up. Day 4 planned for tomorrow and also prepping Wed tea too after work while watching the Olympics

 evilsquid, I do envy your trip to NYC! I went there a couple of years ago and loved every minute. it's a fascinating city with so much to see and do. Enjoy!! Life's picking up for you too at the moment. Great!!
Same for you sparkles, I was so pleased to read your 'out with the old' post a couple of days ago. Life seems so much happier for you recently and :T on sticking with your exercise programme.0 -
How exciting evilsquid posting from NY. Would love to be walking around NY as part of my exercise!
Fabbing wise I made a point of going to bed at a reasonable time last night. My body is clearly not used to it as I woke up about 4.30am this morning. Still going to keep the wind-down routine and early bed going to get into a routine. Despite the early wake up, I feel quite refreshed this morning.
Fabbing plans for today are:
1. Continue with my walking. Aiming to build up to an easy 6 - 8 miles.
2. Have a Yoga session this morning.
3. Cleanse, tone, moisturise.
Really need to do a food shop soon too, which ties in with fabbing as I really need to get some healthy snacks and meals organised.
Haven't thought about my goals in detail but I really enjoyed the Zig Ziglar video. My rough goals are:
1. Lose a stone by the Aumtum Equinox (22 Sept?)
2. Build up my walking fitness so that 6 - 8 miles is easy (it is not at the moment!).
3. Have a daily Yoga session, even if it is just 15 mins.
In thinking what Zig said about deciding who (individuals, organisations) I need to work with on my goals, I have contacted a friend who is really into walking and in the Ramblers. We have set a date in our diary for our first walk and we will then aim to meet regulalry for walks.0 -
Morning all
Seem to have been visited by my old enemy insomina grrr. Why is is for weeks I can sleep so well then all of a sudden I'm led in bed wide awake, 2nd night in a row.
I have been hitting on with the exercise a bit more. Yesterday when I got in from work, I went straight upstairs and got changed put my trainers on and went for a walk. Then after tea I did the shred.
I don't know what it is but I'm acutally enjoying the challenge of doing the exercise and healthy eating, I will show my mother I can do it. She did really rattle me somewhat.
Quite jealous of Evil in NY, its mine and hubbys dream to go there, its going to hopefully be our first holiday away with the kids, got a few more years to go yet but we will go.
Hope you all have a lovely day xxChiari Brain Malformation - decompression survivor

Hewie - good for you with the exercise - all those endorphins will have you feeling fab in no time! Great "I'll show you" attitude.
Allie - walking is great isn't it? If you'd asked me a year ago if I be going on organised walks I'd have laughed at you. I thought walkers were greying oldies in bobble hats and anoraks - couldn't be further from the truth!
Bitsy - keep up the good work - lots of green days to come I'm sure.
I'm feeling much better today (the old monthly scourge has begun, always feel better when its here rather than waiting). Think I'll try a run later, see if I can match the success of the last time. Fingers crossed.
I do need to do some schoolwork too - yesterday's efforts just about added up to getting it out of the boot of the car:rotfl:
One more little summer goal ticked off - I finished book 5 of the hoped for 10 last night, so halfway there. Will pop to the library later and pick up some more.
First woofer walk of the day coming up - the park beckons....
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Morning All,
Everyone is doing well with all the fabbing, healthy eating and exercise!
I did fitball last night and we had the hardcore teacher, she made us work! So aching today and awaiting the monthly too, but have fabbed my face and put slap on today..it's a rarity for me to wear make up to work!
WW did I read your 10k is in Cardiff or I misread it?
Better go do some work or at least look busy in my day job, the office is very quiet and day drags.0
