    Morning all!
What a day in the Olympics - very exciting! Hope Mrs Farah hasn't gone into labour yet! More medals to come today too with guaranteed medals in the tennis and I'm hoping that the Brownlee brothers in the triathlon will do well too. Its a sport that doesn't get a lot of coverage but we had a realistic medal hope in the womens yesterday (came 5th) and the brothers in the mens are at the top of their field.
In my little fantasy world I'd love to be a triathlete - they just look so fit and strong. The only part I could do at the moment is the swimming (and much slower than they do it):rotfl:.

I'm off on an organised 8 mile walk in the Cheshire countryside with the walking group today - hope the weather isn't too bad. It will be muddy but I'm hoping we don't get soaked to the skin too. I motivate myself by thinking of the cals burnt;)

Right, the dog needs walking so a little stroll around the park is next - the big walks like today's are too far for him, he can manage the 4 mile ones but I'd have to carry him home on this one.

    Morning everyone!

After a wonderful time watching the Olympics - Go Team GB - Well done everyone!

WW - well done on your run!
Bitsy - hope you managed to enjoy your holiday and DD is recovering nicely
LL - what can I say about your situation apart from you seem to be dealing with it ok which is about all you can. You go girl with your kimono top and wear the clothes you have!

A busy day yesterday and got most of the housework done, loads of washing dried on the line, lots of Olympic watching, dog walking and so on.

Shred done - hard work but good. Lots of ab work on this level which is hard going but this is where it counts!

What else is there to say, fabbed up nails yesterday, dyed my hair and tried out my new night cream which I bought on offer - very nice and will get another one in if I like it this week

Going to a wedding do tonight. Have got a nice blue top and jacket to wear with black siky trousers and have had my hair done ready. GP thinks Dad may have dementia now and is doing tests. Hoping tonight will take my mind off things.[/QUOTE

hope you had a good night. It's good to put things to one side for a while.

    Good morning ladies :D

Back from sunny Dorset. Had lovely hols. I confess I don't look as polished as I should but had bad sleep while we were away courtesy of DD who decided to finally come down with chicken pox the day after we arrived  I've spent all week sleeping on a single bunk while DD slept in double bed with H (due to temperature, itching etc). Have dark rings under my eyes and lets not talk about the eating :o anyway in between the washing this weekend I need some serious pampering.

Will try and catch up on the thread. Hope you are all OK
    xx

glad you had a good hol Bitsy[hope DD is feeling better. Mine always seem to throw up all over the bed when we go away! As for the eating mine's gone astray and I'm at home( not sure it was ever on track:eek:, I think we all overeat when on hols.

Well done WW, don't think I'll ever get to that in fact I haven't done any running this last week- not sure it's for me:o. I might have another go but I am a bit worried about injuring my joints a cousin of mine has run lots of marathons and both his knees have had to be operated on and he says it's fairly common if you run quite a lot.

LL hope OH is doing ok.

Well I enjoyed my night out, it was a lovely change. My friend has said we'll have to do it again so hopefully I will at least have an occasional night out now. I'm going to keep a look out for any bands/singers we might like to see. I didn't feel v. fab though I felt fat :(, why is it I know I feel bad in my clothes but can't seem to tackle the eating?
Have a good day everyone -it's sunny here so best get some washing in!/COLOR]

Wow, well done WW! I can't imagine ever running - I'm not really built for speed, lol, and have a dodgy knee, but sound like you're doing amazingly well!

Bitsy & LL, good coping skills ay least by the sound of it, you must be mentally fab at least.

I saw bits of the Olympic coverage yesterday, we were out celebrating my friend's birthday, but all the bars had tvs on. Also saw football Team GB leave their hotel for the match, which was quite random - we were making about Cardiff shopping, went up a sidestreet to look at a wedding dress shop, and were suddenly in a cheering crowd!:T Saw Ryan Giggs (quite handsome, but whilst cheering kept thinking 'you cheating, unfaithful sod!')

I am now officially far too old for clubbing though - because of the match meaning the trains would be difficult we caught the train back up the Valleys early and went out in Pontypridd. It was just awful, we started in Wetherspoons which was bad enough, but had quite good tvs showing the Olympics -Go Mo! Then that got too hot so we moved onto an utter dive -highlight was the people watching - some drunken skank decided one guy was clearly the guy for her, based on his unzipping his jeans and dancing about with his c!!k out! It was eye-opening, to say the least.:rotfl:

WOW I watched the Olympics last night. How amazing are these atheletes :D I cannot comprehend even running 10,000m let alone having the strength to then sprint the last lap. So much emotion, just loving the crowd singing the national anthem......totally inspiring all round. I am in awe at Jessica Ennis and the other heptatheletes (sp?) and being able to be so good at so many athletic disciplines. Almost makes me want to get off the sofa and go for a run. Almost :rotfl:

Still feeling really tired so going to up water intake today. Haven't drunk nearly enough whilst out and about so am probably really dehydrated :o:o
Just the usual plod, have to go and empty caravan of our clothes etc so probably bare minimum of fabbing. Have just realised kids are at home due to holidays and I haven't planned a thing :eek::eek:

ETA: apologies for being a bit self centred :o

WW well done on your running :D

LL glad OH is looking a better colour xxx

Lizzie glad you had a good night out :)

faithless LOL at your description of a night out. And very true about Mr Giggs ;)

VNM sorry to hear about your dad's possible dementia xxxx

Hugs and spoons all round for everyone I have missed :o

Ooh, I meant to add I went to Superdrug for their vitamin e hot oil cloth that was on offer - £5.99 for one or offer of £3.99 for two vitamin e range things! I got the last one Cardiff Queen Street had yesterday, so got the vitamin e face oil as my second item.

I've been using the Oil Cleansing Method and getting on well, but you only do it once or twice a week so I've been trying different things the other 5days, having tried the hot cloth last night I think this will be nice, but the muslin cloth is quite exfoliating so I'm not sure I'll want to use that more than once or twice a week. Just need to find something for the other 3-4 days now, lol.
The vit e face oil seemed really nice too.

I got 4 of these as the offer was great value. Decided to give it a go as I'm about to run out of cleanser and as I'm downbranding still decided to try this instead of Liz Earle. Very nice too and I really like the Vit E range too. Its so cheap especially when on offer I think is it ok? It is and its one of my favourites now.

Just back from a tremendous bike round around town taking in 3 steep hills - doing that one again this week. did get rained heavily on the way back with a shower. Can feel the Shred work improving the strength up those hills and in general on the bike. Maybe I don't need to take up that gym offer afterall.....still tempted though and keep weighing it up in my head,

  • Hi folks. Can I join in please. I started the pevious challenge but fell off the wagon early on! Was reading some of the posts and remembering some of the lovely comments I got when I was making a bit more effort on the previous challenge.

Today so far I have done nothing fell asleep again after breakfast as I am taking ages to get over a chest infection - I just feel totally exhausted all the time. My mum has invited me up for dinner today so will be fabbing myself before I head up. Off to read the thread from the start to catch up. Thanks to Bitsy for starting the new thread:T.

    Classy :rotfl::rotfl:

Welcome back Allie . Hope the chest infection gets better soon.

Just having a break from the garden - my back is killing me and I've been nibbled to death by ants. Time for a cuppa and a lie down.

New washing machine fitted - now have a leak somewhere in the kitchen. Perfick:o Just waiting for the plumber to pop round. Hopefully it's just a quick fix.

Are you sure Giggs didn't follow you to Pontypridd?:rotfl:;)

I've been so impressed with how articulate and genuine the athletes being interviewed at the Olympics are. What a difference from your average cliched footballer.

Not much happening here, all we seem to be doing is watching Olympics and fitting in essentials around that. I have changed bedding and washed it all and managed good, healthy food but that's about all.:o

This morning I watched most of the marathon, partly because I was interested in the race but also loved the shots of the route around London. I think whoever was behind showing off the landmarks as part of the events deserves great credit. Also it's given a lot of ordinary people a chance to turn out for the 'free' events. DH and I went up to London one Sunday last year. It's great walking around the City (St Pauls, Bank of England, Leadenhall Market, Tower Bridge etc) on a Sunday as it's fairly deserted. I printed a walking tour off the net.

ww, maybe you and sparkles could enter a triathlon between you?;) You seem to hae two events each sorted. never mind, you have four years to train!!
