Frump to Fab - Sizzling Summer Solstice to Awesome Autumn Equinox

Thanks for the tips Sparkles - I will try this starting today.
I know I have been very neglectful on the exercise front of late - no real excuses - I just need to apply myself.
I know it will take a long time, but as you suggest, I will start slowly and build up. Yesterday, those hills were a real eye opener. I need to do this.
So ................if I may ladies, I will make a commitment to walk each day and I will report my progress.
You can be my witnesses:rotfl: and keep me on the straight and narrow.
Off to have a face mask and a soak in the bath. Today I have a "frozen shoulder" again.
Hope you get the bike.0 -

Well I thought I should probably wait a few days before posting on here because I wanted to be able to write something positive and inspiring...but the truth is I'm feeling pretty rubbish at the moment.
My partner had a bit of a health scare. He found a lump... he had an ultrasound scan at the hospital pretty quickly (they must have had a cancellation as we were initially told it would be a 2 week wait) and he was told that the scan didn't show anything. I am relieved but at the same time slightly confused as we still don't know the cause of the lump and don't know why the scan didn't see anything at all. He is back to the docs in 7-10 days to discuss so I guess we'll no more then.
We also went for an walk one evening (we used to go for a walk every evening but seemed to have got into the habit of just staying in watching tv or being on the computer), trying to increase my healthy habits and on the way back I had an egg thrown at me! It hit me on the back, went all over my jacket, arm, and skirt and over my partners trousers! It was dark so I don't think it was a personal attack on us but it made me feel pretty rubbish. Also, it was thrown out of a passing car so there had to be an adult involved, not just a bunch of kids. I don't understand why some people seem to get pleasure out of making other people feel rubbish.I have had to wash my jacket twice as it still had a mark on it.
On top of that, lack of sleep, not feeling good about work and am shattered today! I haven't been good and sticking to my targets and haven't felt very motivated. So if anyone has some motivation going spare please send some my way!
Trying to think of some positives:
1.My hair is freshly coloured
2. I was complimented on my hair (when I was on way to hairdresser to get it cut as I thought it was looking a mess!)
3. Had my hair cut so no more split ends!
4. I already have dinner made, just needs heating up (we were having a friend over for dinner so I made it in advance but he had to cancel...we were looking forward to seeing him but it does mean I can just rest this evening. I am so tired I probably wouldn't be very sociable!)
5. I can have a lay in tomorrow! Whoo-hoo!
I have to stop making excuses for myself and realise that there will be bad days, thats part of life. I need to stop using that as a reason to give up on myself.January 2016:

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit dow madrabbitgirl (that's quite a mouthful, what about mrg or marg??). I find that mindless egg throwing difficult to understand especially as you think it was an adult??? I'm feeling quite motivated today so sending some your way although I do identify with the tiredness. My sleep is so random and interrupted.
Had quite a good day on the fabbing front in lots of different ways:- I had my eyebrows waxed which I haven't had done for ages. I always forget what a huge difference it makes to have it done professionally, makes me look so much more awake.
- I made a start on my exercise programme. Almost chickened out but decided I had to start somewhere. It was just a brisk 20 minute walk but now I have something to build on. Thanks sparkles for your advice and tales about your mum. I won't be trying to run/jog any time soon. I also need some supportive shoes. As I just went out before I changed my mind I just had ballet pumps on which are much too loose now I've lost weight.
- Bought myself a skirt in TU at Sainsbury's. Only £7 in the sale. It's a khaki (?) mini skirt for wearing on sunshine holidays. I really dislike shorts probably because I have a long body and most are very uncomfortable so this will be great for next year with tanned legs.
- got myself a book from the library which isn't just my usual chick lit. I've read 20 pages and plan to try a bit on a regular basis between reading novels. Already finding myself disagreeeing and thinking which is a good sign!

Thanks for all your kind words about the report - still deciding what to do.....saw another friend that I hadn't seen for a while today and they commented on how good my son had behaved at a boring function...:)
I am thinking I will try and put it to the back of my mind and then make a formal appointment to talk to his new teacher in Sept. I do appreciate everyone's advice....it has really helped.
Sounds like you have had a good fabbing day maman :T
Sorry to hear about your stressful time madrabbitgirl Hopefully no news is good news with the scan. There are some real idiots around aren't they. I do like the last two sentences of your post...things will be up and down, each day is different...if you are having a bad one use it as an exuse to have a nice gentle fabbing day.....chill out with a book or get an early night. Glad you took that onboard maman - take it steady and a steady steady increase over the weeks. Its consistency that's the key - keep it going!
As for me - road bike sold - boo! Never mind will keep looking for one. Trial run for work commute planned for tomorrow to see how I get on with it.
Housework done today and washing, plus day 2 of Level 2 Shred - better than yesterday and hard work.

I have been to my DD year 6 leavers assembly this morning, it was lovely and they all got to say something about their time in school, thought I might've been a bit emotional as I've been going up to the school for 11 years and its the end of an era, might be different when I go and pick her up. can't believe I won't have to go to the school anymore. She is off for a sleep over tonight with a friend, who's dad is putting on an end of year summer party tomorrow which is a lovely thing for him to do. Most of her friends are going up to secondary school with her so she will see most of her friends again.
Anyway I'm off to enjoy the last hours peace before the schools finish, 2pm finish today.
Enjoy the sun if you have it, we have yeah:j
All of you thinking of doing the couch to 5k, I don't think it matters how you approach it as long as you are moving in a way you weren't before and adding to it each week. I started this week and I can't manange to run for a minute yet (unless it's downhill :rotfl:)but i do the full 20 mins running for as much of the 60 seconds as I can, and then I walk quickly for the rest. I will stick to week one until I can run for a minute, might be a while but at least I'm moving.
WW - my roots are showing too. I hate dyeing my hair with a passion. Have put it off this week, but will have to tackle it next.
Need to get my nails done over the weekend too. Kids are off now so need to make sure things don't slip too much.Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

morning everyone, let's all have a great sunday!
As for me I'm up and about and just getting ready for a couple of hours bike ride after I've take the dog for a walk. Here's hoping it goes well!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Morning to you all,
I have been reading this for a while but not posted, can I join you?
I think that you have been having a subtle effect on me - today I am dyeing my hair, I have a new capsule wardrobe and I'm booked in for a haircut and Mac make over next week.
I have also managed to stop smoking. Now I just need to tackle the few pounds that I have put on and make sure I get fit. I do have a gym membership but am thinking that maybe couch to 5k and 30 day shred maybe better for me?
Thank you all. xx0 -
Had a terrible night - just couldn't sleep so feeling a bit tired this morning.
Madrabbitgirl hope you are ok. Must be worrying but H has had a lump for years which is a harmless cyst so don't worry too much as hospital didn't show anything, this may be what it is.
Have a good day all - looks like it's going to be a sunny one again.Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler
