Frump to Fab - Sizzling Summer Solstice to Awesome Autumn Equinox

Hi all,
Been for a long walk this morning with dogs. Trousers were drenched from the wet grass. Have been thinking about my next move financially. When DS3 goes into his apprenticeship I need to find something to at least make up for the loss in child benefit etc.
Done yoga for my back, and a few minutes mindfulness/meditation.
Need to sort out nails and defuzz  later.
I've a message for you all from Callisto, she thanks you all for your concern and your messages. She doesn't feel up to posting atm but I am sure she will be back when she's ready. I'm sure you all join me in wishing her well.Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Thank you so much for that lizzie, both for contacting callisto and passing on the message. :A0 -
Lizzie - thank you for letting us know about Callisto - as long as she's ok.
Pod - hope you're ok - you sound a bit flustered. I know what its like to have a poorly pet - I turn into an over protective neurotic wreck! Hope the money sorts itself out - is the cat insured?
Madrabbitgirl - liking the organising! Very positive:)
A busy day at work and I've felt starving all day - I think its due to all of the exercise yesterday - still within my cal allowance (just) but its been a struggle today. Hope tomorrow is a normal appetite day. No exercise today other than dogwalking , giving my legs a a chance to recover.
Going to have a quiet evening watching soaps and having a bath and reading my new library book (getting exciting now).
Just as a quick question...
What's everyone else reading these days?
Any good suggestions for a good fictional read? I'm back into Ian Rankin at the moment (can't beat a bit of Rebus!).0 -
Just had to share it with people that appreciate it....
In the spirit of one of my minigoals for this week (wear clothes that just linger in the wardrobe) I've just tried on a dark grey trouser suit that I haven't worn in 6 months because I thought it made me look too fat and its quite loose!:j:j:j
I've put a big black leather belt with a silver buckle on the trousers and they look quite preppy. Gaining a bit of inspiration from this I tried on a teal top that I've only worn once with kind of feathery sleeves (sounds absolutely vile but is actually quite nice) and it fits too. I've looked at me from all angles in the mirror and I look quite streamlined! No bra bulges at the back, no side overhang at the waist, flattish belly:D. I take my jacket off when its warm but usually wear baggier things to hide the flab.
I've only lost half a stone so it must be the exercise changing my shape.
And it was after tea when I'm at my most bloated and flaccid;)
Am so chuffed!
(Sorry for boring you but I had to tell someone:o)0 -
Damn:mad:
Just wrote a long chatty post and lost it.
Sorry have to dash - Callisto - hope you are well. Stay safe.0 -
Morning all,
Lizzie - thanks for passing on the message, hope Callisto is ok and feels up to coming back soon x
WW - well done on the new shape - all the exercise definately paying offNo kitty is not insured, my own fault really, put it off for ages as we had no spare money and when I did start to think should be getting it sorted then she was already classed as an 'older' cat and the prices were fairly ridiculous. Will just have to try and find the money from somewhere, she seems to be getting worse this week, whinging lots and hardly eating anything - including her bleeding pills! Am really hoping this will all go well and she'll be a lot better afterwards.
Am feeling really shattered this week - but in good news, submitted my story this morning! Am amazed that managed to get it finished and the synopsis done on time - so just have to cross my fingers now and see if they come back to me
Unfortunately no time for a rest as ten million other things to do :rotfl:Am finishing work a bit early today to go and see a wedding venue with a couple, then am meant to be going straight to choir but am debating leaving it tonight and probably sleeping lol. Still haven't even finished sorting through all the photos from Friday though, plus OH has just found out he needs to get a resit in by the end of the month, and since it's an essay I'll end up having to help him loads with it so he doesn't fail again
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
Good morning everyone!
Welshwoofer - That's good news that you are feeling more steamlined! and no you aren't boring us! Success stories are exactly what we need to give us some inspiration! :T
I had a good time printing off various charts to help keep me on track.
The organising my dresses didn't quite go to plan! I dug them all out from the wardrobe, boxes under the bed etc...and counted them all and was quite shocked to count a staggering 55 in total!!!!!:eek:
I tried a few on trying to decide which I should part with but then just felt a bit miserable at the thought of parting with any of them and sad that I can't fit into many of them and so I just put them all back in the wardrobe! I have managed to part with just 3 in total! One grey wool dress that had gotten just a bit too bobbly and slightly misshapen, one black and grey stripey dress that had a hole in the arm and was also misshapen both to go in the bin and another black and grey stripey wrap-around dress that I am scared to wear as I don't trust it to not come unwrapped! (to go to charity shop).
I am glad I looked through what I have anyway and I think it has made me more determined to slim down so I can wear some of them again. I don't think I will be buying anymore dresses for a while anyway!
Today I will sort through an area that I hopefully won't have such an emotional attachment to - my sock drawer!January 2016:

Madrabbitgirl - 3 is a start
I'm quite bad at getting rid of things too (though better then I used to be). I find it helps if I have a kind of checklist - eg, does it fit me, does it actually suit me (I used to buy loads of things because I loved how they looked on the hanger - but then not the way they looked on me, but then still didn't want to get rid of them because they looked pretty hanging in the wardrobe :rotfl:), do you feel fantastic when you wear it? If not why keep it? I have black binbags in cupboards full of clothes to wear 'when I lose weight again' - some of these are from years and years ago and are probably horribly out of style and won't suit the way I dress now. But I know if I open them to sort through them I'll want to keep them - even though I haven't opened the bags in about a year and haven't even noticed I'm missing them. One day I think I'll be brave and tell OH to take them all to the charity shop unopened :rotfl:

I find it hard to get rid as well. But the best way is to get my best friend, or my daughter to help me. As when i am umming or erring, they point out the faults etc/ or the are you sures, and the to go pile is much bigger.
Although I do tend to have an alterations pile, as my sewing skills can come into thier own. (Only problem is WHEN!).
I did have my shower and shave my legs today. that always helps me feel better.
I am only in slacks and a yellow jumper today. been unwell for a few days so trying to get dressed is just another effort at the moment. Thought the yellow would brighten me and my mood up.
The ironing pile is huge at the moment, and i need to find the energy to attack that, as thats where all the clothes that fit me are.
I still dont have a set of weighing scales, so no idea of my weight. I am a little scared that I will have put on quite a lot since my last weigh in. I feel rather bloated of late. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I don't really know why but I've been reluctant to post lately. I think I've been waiting to think of something useful to say but that might take a while!:rotfl:
Decided I'll just jump in and gossip!!
madrabbitgirl, I think getting all the dresses out was a good start in itself. Next I'd suggest you sort them into what fits and what doesn't. Then you could pack away all the 'what doesn't' stuff. I lost a lot of weight last year and I was so pleased I'd kept some of my good stuff from when I was 'thin' before. Particularly a couple of lovely silk dresses, a long 'black tie' dress and a velvet coat which I've worn and worn since. You might want to only keep just real favourites or good quality, classic stuff. I don't know how much storage you have but I'd certainly suggest you keep your wardrobe for current clothes and pack the rest away. If you're not ready for this yet what about just going through all your other clothes sorting out things for the bin and the CS, at least it's a start!0
