wow, everyone has been doing so much!
last week i hit my weightloss milestone of loosing 10% of my body weight.
Not been a good week though, work is becoming a right nightmare. My boss is letting another girl get away with doing nothing all day and i get handed all the big or urgent work to do while she sits there and claims she's "soooooo busy" when work comes in. Every time she asks the stupidest questions and asks for help on the silliest things the boss is all lovely and nice and will show her but when i ask anything, even genuine stuff or she tells me to do things i haven't been shown how to yet and I need training for and i ask her to show me i just get talked at like i'm a complete idiot and i'm wasting her time. She's also started veering from wanting to know what i'm doing, then when i tell her what i'm doing i get told she doesn't need a running commentary, then 10 mins later i get asked what i'm doing again.
its honestly like being in high school again those two are so cliquey now. DH seems to think they've both twigged i'm the more likely candidate to get promoted out of the 3 of us and they are banding together now to take out the competition.0 -
Evilsquid Sounds like a nightmare. Is it a new girl or someone who has been there a while? I'm sure your boss will soon get tired of her asking silly questions and she won't last too long if she isn't willing to put the effort in. It's not fair if your boss is being all Jeckyll & Hyde with you though. Still, you'll be the one laughing if you do get the promotion.
PP Well done on the continued weight loss! I've only managed one low cal day this week, I put the 2nd one off until today but am really not in the mood so this evening I ended up having a bit of a pig out instead!Whoops!

Morning ladies.
Forced myself to go for a wee run this morning. Body really didn't want to, you know how the aches kick in a couple of days AFTER you've done exercised you're not used to? Thats me this morning  I am pleased to say that I managed to run for longer :j I didn't run further, still taking it baby steps, want to be able to run without stopping before I move in to distance lol
I am about to go and do some yoga to make sure I stretch those muscles.
Evilsquidto your colleagues, sound a right charming pair. If you can ignore the girl near you, if she questions why just say you ask what I am doing then say you don't want a running commentary. Now long before promotion is an option? Xxxx
LL in my opinion you can't decorate and exercise, It's time consuming. Least your not sitting on your butt doing nothing x
Well done to everyone on WL :T I haven't lost anything  am not making progress in any way on that score. Fasting has been a bit hit and miss since holiday but haven't been over gorging on food or anything. Maybe I should just accept this is my size for now, am not convinced this bloomin' coil isn't affecting things still.
Have lovely Sunday yoga mat callingI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Ah but I do in the evenings though - I just collapse on the sofa and watch junk TV. That has to stop.
I woke up this morning and I look absolutely shattered - my eyes look so tired, they feel sore and itchy too - a sure sign of tiredness for me.
So...........ladies - here's my pledge - from now on - unless I'm doing anything special or going out in the evening - from now on it's early nights for me. :rotfl:
One thing this decorating marathon has taught me is that I'm not 30 any more.:o
I used to be able to decorate a whole room in a weekend, and still have the energy to go to work or party all night - sometimes both:D Now a couple of hours and I have to have a rest and then, as I said, in the evening I just collapse on the sofa. Mind you to be fair I am still managing to visit OH most days so I guess that counts for something.
I just wish I had more energy - so I guess early nights are a good place to start. Getting back to healthy eating and exercising and getting in shape will help in the longer term so just as soon as the house is finished that will be my next goal - just in time for our next Solstice challenge.:T
I'm also resolved to do something nice and constructive in the evening - read, make jewellery, phone a friend. I will of course allow myself some TV but will just be a bit more selective - no more munching my way through 'treats' whilst I watch a load of rubbish.
I promise - Girl Guides Honour
Some great weight losses there ladies - you really are putting me to shame. Bitsy you are going great guns.
Thank you for nice comments about my house. Yes it is starting to look much better. I love decorating and always used to be doing something. I used to decorate at least a couple of rooms each year as well as regular touching up and maintenance before OH became ill.
However looking after OH took up all of my time and everything slipped which is why it's been such a big job to get everything ship shape again.
The wheelchair, stairlift and all the other equipment and paraphenalia did a lot of damage - still need to try and sort out the wooden floors. At present I'm cheating with a couple of well placed rugs but there are some nasty scratches and gouges which need attention. I think I will hire a big sander and get the boys onto that one. I should imagine it's heavy going.
Anyway having a day off - my niece is competing in some show jumping today. Hope the weather bucks up it's looking a bit murky, then I need to pop in and see my parents.
There's a huge pile of ironing starting at me so I will remember the elephant today and give it an hour. Whenever I'm faced with a huge task or something that I just don't fancy doing I give it what I call the "hour a day rule" until it's done.
The elephant - one bite at a time.:D
Have a great Sunday - remember it's supposed to be a day of rest so you have my permission to take the day off and doing something nice.0 -
Morning all,
Ll - i like the hour a day rule i to have a pile of ironing, laundry and chores, plus meal planning, shopping and job hunting to do.
Gorgeous blue skies here so think i need to get out and enjoy it. Had a nice day out with my sis & niece yesterday, totally last minute but just what i needed.
Right off to write my to do list and actually tick things off it!
Eh xx0 -
LL I think you're being too hard on yourself. If you've been on the go decorating all day I'd say relaxing in the evening is what you're entitled to do. However mindlessly eating and staying up late are not so yes early nights are needed.
Did a little bit of yoga, found it hard to do some of the moves (am using this book but my legs and body are a lot heavier than the author.......would doing a split downward dog be easier if I had thinner legs? :rotfl:). DS then decided to join me so we were doing some moves together. I am making a commitment to do at least one routine from this book a day. It's 15 mins surely I can spend 15 mins less online and do this instead:o

she joined a month after i did. one of those that on paper sounds like the perfect person but when you actually get her in there she can talk the talk but cant walk the walk. the promotion is currently after 12 months but now our boss has started dropping in "don't count on it!!" hints. tbh, i think she thought the promotion was hers and is already put out that we've joined and one of us will be taking it and she has to train us up to take it.
i dont think she's realised that what she does is nice and simple and keeps her occupied but she cant bill any clients for it and when it comes down to it, how much have they both billed will be one of the first things they look at along with can we trust her to do urgent work when it comes in without being told she's "Soooooo busy!!". she's already turned down work down from her department when our bosses boss told her she needed it doing. she was visibly put out at the "soooooo busy!" response and then gave it me to do.lessonlearned wrote: »So...........ladies - here's my pledge - from now on - unless I'm doing anything special or going out in the evening - from now on it's early nights for me. :rotfl:

i already have early nights on a week night, my friends all think i'm crazy! I've been forcing myself to read at night. I keep buying books and magazines and then just never get round to reading any of them!0 -

LL - decorating is classed as exercising! Its hard work. However eating a bag of Revels does not - more's the pity! I go to bed about 10pm on a week day and read a book for about 30 - 60 mins- it does help me to wind down and relax. I get up at 6am for dog walking before work and don't usually sleep right through but it gets me about 6 hours on a good day.
Well done to everyone on their exercise and weightloss efforts! Just think, a few months ago we weren't doing half as much as we are now - don't beat yourself up if this week there's been no change on the scales or you're finding it hard to run for a certain amount time - everything is a step in the right direction. Give yourselves some credit for not scoffing everything in sight and getting up off the settee:T:T:T
Had a lovely day yesterday with the dog walks and comedy night - felt like a proper day off.
So far today I've taken the dog to the park for a pootle round and done a 5K run. I must go for more runs in the week, not going to improve distance otherwise. Make me go if I seem to be sat around doing nothing!
I have some school work to do today so that's the afternoon sorted but I will get out and about for another good walk with the dog later. Just cleaned the bathrooms and the whole house now looks all shiny and clean. Will sit down and watch a film later when the school stuff is done - it is Sunday!0 -

well my mums told me to make an effort with loosing weight and my running and just go to work looking fabulous everyday to really irritate them!! i've been talking about slimming world with one of the other women at work that does it and she's been listening in so i'm expecting at some point to hear she's joined a group too.0 -
Good afternoon everyone!
Very frugal night out and got some nice comments about my outfit last night including my bright purple jacket which looked rather nice to me!
Today have made 5 jars of damson jam using them up from the freezer so 2 will go into present hampers leaving the rest for me! Thinking I would still like to make some plum or greengage jam if I can find them at a reasonable price then they can go into the present hampers along with some marmalade using up the sevilles out of the freezer too.
Having a nice chilled out day after a late night last night. Have updated weekly spending diary for this week which has worked very well keeping me on track.
Just going out with the dog for a long walk in a bit as trying to avoid the rain which is due to arrive shortly. Then might get round to either a bit of study or job applying - see how I feel later or watch a film instead after I've finished RI30 L3 - last day today and I WILL finish it!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550
