I havent the energy or strength to run, but I am thrilled to bits that I am able to walk DGD to school. It is about 10 minutes or so away, but a distance that I have not been able to walk for some 2 years!. I have been slowly walking further and further. Considering that in March I was using a walking stick and couldnt walk much further then the end of the garden before I was in masses of pain and struggling, I am so excited at the ability!.
I am knackered at returning, and a bit achey. But I intend to walk when ever I can. Its harder this week, as she is only there until 12 so not a lot of recovery time, but in two weeks time she will be there full time, and I will have until 3 to recover. And hopefully to do more things for myself.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
  • Morning all,

Will catch up on everyone's posts later as cant read that well on phone.

Another boring day in work, had no internet or email for over a week. So being kept busy clearing the attic, least its exercise! But i keep eating biscuits not so good!

I've got a wedding to go to next weekend and not sure what to wear will raid my wardrobe, hotel & train will cost enough so not allowed new outfit!

    Eh xx
  • Maman I think a smart black dress would look nice with a purple velvet jacket. I know some people don't like to wear black to a wedding but I think it is more acceptable these days and with purple it won't look too harsh. maybe teamed with some nice heels and jewllery (maybe with a touch of purple in the jewelery to tie it in with the jacket?) I don't think you need to spend a fortune on a new dress, you can get a simple smart black dress for quite cheaply and can wear it for many different occasions and dress it up or down to suit. Or maybe you already have one in your wardrobe? Maybe have a look through what you have already and have a play around & see what you have that could go with the jacket and look nice if you dressed it up a bit?

I really like the idea of those walks pod and ww. Particularly as I now realise you don't need a dog! Is it a particular organisation to google?

Try www.meetup.com put your postcode in and it will give you all the groups in your area. There's usually a walking group.

Re the wedding outfit - how about a grey dress under the purple coat? Grey is less harsh and can be jazzed up with a nice scarf/jewellery and can be worn again. Bet the problem is that you've lost weight and need something new!

Went for my very first run this morning
I was soooooo nervous :o secretly worried I would embarrass myself :o anyway didn't run the whole 3/4 of a mile probably ran half a mile in total. So now I've taken the first step it wasn't too bad. Hard work but no one pointed and stared :rotfl:

    Yeah! Well done!:j:j

Off on a walk myself in an hour or so - have had a nice email from the organiser this afternoon saying hello and just checking I'm still going. Nice to feel welcome.
The dog will be primed to be on his best behaviour but I bet he does a poo as soon as we get there - always lets me down!:rotfl:

The alarm man has been and advised disabling it altogether is I didn't use it much. As the alternative was £250 ish to service the whole thing and replace the broken parts (apparently more than one) I took his advice and coughed up £90 instead - not bad work if you can get it, he was here for precisely 10 mins!

Friday tomorrow - hurrah! Looking forward to the weekend, a bit of time off and a chance to catch up on all of the little annoying jobs.
Hope everyone has a good end of the week.
  • Just back from the new meetup group walk and had a lovely time - although we did finish it off in the dark.
Met some great new people - men and women - and chatted the whole way round. The dog is a real icebreaker so glad he came with me.
Will definitely go with that group again.

Celebrating my new venture with a bag of crisps - counted in the cal allowance of course!:)
  • I have devised an outfit from my wardrobe for a night out on Sat with work for a leaving do. Also some shoes never worn bought in the sales 2yrs ago. Tried them on and they fit ok with a nice padded footbed t-bar with high heel in brown with a navy trim. Planning to wear white cropped jeans with my bargain navy ruffle top and lovely purple sale jacket. Also have plenty of make up to free up out of my make up bag too.

Thank goodness its Friday and the end of the working week tomorrow too

  • Missed meeting my dad this morning for dog walking. So took advantage of being on my own and decided to run (in wellies!) round the fields. Did OK, still ran on balls of my feet (heel to toe feels too heavy, even in trainers, to me). Fancying doing some yoga later.

Just the usual fabbing today, think I need to make some effort with my face tonight......it's been a busy week so think kids can have a bath and I'll have a little pamper (and a cheeky glass of wine ;)) at same time.

Have a fab Friday everyone :D

  • Yay, I officially get married a year today, I've just rung and booked the registrar! Need to get back on the diet wagon before going to try on dresses, I fell off again! I did use feet scrub stone thing in shower last night and used nice Soap & Glory body butter all over, and have light makeup and a nice top on today.
  • hi,
thanks for all the advice re mammogram. I probably will be going I've got another week to decide.

Not really much else to report. Have managed to do nearly everything on my lists so house is becming more organised and I'm fitting more in so hopefully more time for fabbing. Am also starting to plan for xmas:eek::eek:, as otherwise find it a struggle financially.
Re the meet ups. There only seems to be ramblers round here, and some of the places they go are difficult to get to on public transport. I'm not sure about starting one up myself as because I can't drive I seem to stick to the same areas mostly. I'll have a think about it though.
Hope you all enjoyed your meet ups. :)
Best get on, have a good day all.

    Morning all,

Bitsy - well done on the running :T think I'm going to try starting the c25k again this weekend and see if my chest holds up!

ww - glad your walk went well too :) Have signed up for a few more on the site - is a little annoying as they have shortish Wed evening ones, which I would prefer really, but they start at 6pm so it's slightly dependant on whether I can get to the starting point from my work by then. The weekend ones are a bit longer, so have booked one for the end of the month and hopefully will have built up a bit by then and won't embarass myself by collasping in a heap or something halfway round :rotfl:

faithless - that's fab, how exciting! Amazing how quickly it will fly by (or so all my brides tell me! - should I ask who's doing your piccies? :rotfl:) You definately have some motivation now to get fabbed up by then :)

Bit of a quiet night last night. Wanted to try and get some work done but was feeling really shattered so didn't manage much :( Still, Friday today so have the weekend to get on with things. Hoping to meet a writey friend for a catch up and might try and get to the cinema to see Brave as it looks like it might be going out this week and still haven't got round to it.
Hope everyone has a good day x
