  • And I look a right scruff - covered in plaster dust. Will bathe and spruce up later. Promise.:o

Sorry no time to post properly but just to let you know I'm still alive and kicking - going hell for leather to get the house finished.

    Have a great day x
  • I am officially shattered!
What a week - glad its over with and I can have a bit of a rest.

Weighed this morning and have lost a 1lb:j

That takes me to 19lbs and just one away from my target. Think its just from being really busy and trying to stick to the cals but always not always succeeding but not gong over by too much. Need to get some proper "out of puff" exercise done this weekend.

Tonight its going to be a glass of wine, a bath and sorting out my nails which are now more like talons.
Need to update my spending diary and work out this month's budget as thankfully today was payday:beer: Off to make some tea before I eat a packet of biscuits.......
  • I have updated my spending diary, sorted out the summer and autumn winter clothes swap and washing ready to freshen up. Have one batch of rosehip syrup on the go to finish off tomorrow as part of my TIFTFT preserving list. Went food shopping and only went off list a little this week. Not too bad though.

Looking forward to nice restful preserving and tidying up day tomorrow then a night out then lots of ironing on Sunday and start a holiday list to sort out holiday clothes. If I feel better tomorrow I will finish off L3 of RI30 which has had to take a back seat due to feeling like a cold or virus was heading rapidly for me

Have a good evening everyone and also a brilliant weekend

  • Not been feeling that well the last couple of days. Feeling achey and a bit breathless and slightly tight in the chest. I think it's mainly down to stress (plus I have a slight cold!) over work...
....but I have made a decision! I am going to be leaving 2 of the families that I currently work with as I feel that I am not coping. I known them for a number of years and in a way it will be sad not to see them anymore but I am finding it more and more of a struggle. It is a long bus journey for me to get there and one of the children is having severe behavioral problems at the moment which I feel that I am unable to help him with.
I do not have any support in dealing with him and I do not agree with the way that certain situations are being dealt with (or not dealt with!). I have given as much help and guidance that I feel I can. They are a lovely family but I feel that I can't do anymore to help them.
I am hoping to be able to do more hours with some of the other families that are more local to me.

  • Good luck withh your decision MRG. If it helps you become less stressed it can only be a good thing.

Had a very rare lie in today - even the dog didn't feel like getting up. We emerged at 8.30, late for us. Have had a hard week though so an extra hour or two will hopefully recharge my battery a bit.

Quite a bit to do today - the normal Saturday chores of food shopping, washing, library, dog walking and cleaning, and a run at some point to get the legs going and then tonight I'm off to a comedy night with the Spice lot. Its quite close to home for me so won't need to leave until just after 7pm. Quite looking forward to it, the last one was really good. Will dig out something fab to wear - not sure what yet.

Right, better get cracking - hope everyone has a good day.:)
  • Go me!

I have finished fabbing cleaning by 11.15am today! Lots of washing out drying on the line after the clothes swap around yesterday to take advantage of this fine drying day

Off out for an hour in the garden later for a big tidy up then its onto my fab time with a long walk, exercise and then face mask for me before fabbing me up to a rare night out

  • It's a beautiful day here and I understand we've got another one tomorrow :j:j

Still working like a demon - think the paintbrush has become welded to my hand. :rotfl:

Just having a brief rest and a snack - bowl of sugar puffs, packet of crisps and yet another cup of tea. Not very healthy but quick and easy when I'm working flat out.

Kitchen done - new (to me) table and chairs now freshly painted and in place. It's starting to look pretty good. I'm going to treat my new look kitchen to some new trendy kitchenalia, kettle, cannisters etc in a bright zingy colour - thinking that bright lime green.

I have some lime green and sage green cushions and throws in the lounge and I bought some lime green bits and bobs for the downstairs cloakroom - so it should all look nice and colour co-ordinated downstairs.

I bought some jade green hand towels and bath mat to dress the bathroom and a couple of lime green ones - to match the jade glass mosaic border tiles. I also have some nice green glass bottles and ferns in there so it should look good.

Not quite sure what to do with my room and DS2 room at the moment. They are both basically cream so I have a nice blank canvas. Will have a mooch round Dunhelm and see what they have. Was thinking purple for main accessories with just a hint of lime green to keep the theme going.

The third bedroom is now dressed as a study - pale green walls, DS2's trendy black leather chaise, pale beech desk and drawers, lots of modern art, plants etc so that looks okj.

Bed 4 (DS1's old room) is looking a bit unloved - a dingy yellow so will give that a lick of paint and some nice new bedlinen. Not quite sure what colour yet - probably a creamy neutral and then add colour with accessories and linen. Turquoise or duck egg??

Aiming to get the house on the market in a couple of weeks so will need to contact the agents next week.

Still having problems with OH's meds, the hospital have advised me that they are currently unavailable, so he is down to 10mg per day instead of 40. We have had to decrease them slowly because you cannot just stop them dead. We see his consultant on Tuesday so we will just have to see what's next.

Anyway must get back to work - am "zhushing" up the hall at the moment - the wheelchairs and the stairlift made so much damage. I would love to change the colour (currently yellow) but that would mean paying someone because the stairwell is so high, so I am just going over it all with the left-over paint from last time and repainting all the doors and frames.

Having a day off tomorrow - watching my niece compete again. Tonight will visit OH - movie night.

mrg - think you are very wise to rethink your work - all that stress just isn't worth it.

Sparkles & WW - some great money saving and fabbing going on there.

Bitsy - well done on the running - you are putting me to shame:o

Faithless - how exciting - that year will pass very quickly.

Not much actual exercising going on here - unless you count all that bending, stretching and going up and down step ladders. Fabbing consists mainly off washing off paint and plaster dust.

It will be worth it .....

Right time to tidy up and get the dinner on.
  • The sun was shining and the forecast for here is really bad for tomorrow - rain and winds - so I decided to go to a National Trust property with the dog for a good long walk to make the most of the weather. Just as we got back to the car it started to cloud over and it looks decidedly dodgy now, so glad we went - lots of fresh air, nature and young deer to look at. It took about 90 mins to walk all the way around so a good bit of exercise done too. I'm out tonight so the dog will now sleep all evening - he's pooped bless him, the water park and this walk in the space of 6 hours!

LL - your house sounds lovely - well done for al lof that hard work! Have a good night with OH. xx
  • Well today I told the two families that I wouldn't be able to carry on after the end of Sept. It didn't quite go to plan as I have been talked into staying with one of the families! but just for a couple of hours every other week, plus they want to pay me more! I've told them I will do it but see how it goes. It's probably a lot better this way as I would have felt sad to walk away from them completely.

WW Your day out at the National Trust property sounds lovely, I do like to be out and about in nature. It has been lovely weather-wise here but some of the leaves are now starting to fall. Autumn's definitely on it's way!

LL It sounds like your house is really coming on! I bet it will look amazing when finished.

    Fedupandskint Enjoy your night out!

    Hi all,

ww - well done on the weight loss, am sure you will hit your target next week :jyour day out sounds lovely.

MRG - hope you're feeling a bit better x am sure it wasn't an easy decision re work, especially when it's involving kids that you must get attached to - but you need to think about yourself as well and additional stress isn't healthy.

LL - wow, lots of work getting done on the house - am sure it's looking great :) hope OH's meds are sorted out soon.

Not a bad day today. Lost another pound from Tuesday so that's 6 altogether now! The calorie counting is working quite well for me, I know it should be common sense but it does make you think about it much more. Decided to start the c25k again - was debating whether to go back to week 1 or just pick up at week 2. Did the week 2 first run bit fairly easily so thought would be ok but by number 4-5 felt like I was dying :rotfl:Made it through though so that's something. Also finally got round to getting some new bras, desparately needed as had none left that were the right size and not falling to bits :o Thinking going to have a few drinks with OH tonight, and then am meeting some friends for a coffee tomorrow - is down by the shore so might go for a wee walk down there afterwards, will see how long we end up gabbing for :rotfl:
    Hope everyone's having a good weekend x
