Gah, why do I keep falling off the healthy eating plan despite knowing I feel awful when eating a ton of junk food? I'm now very tired and irritable, my stomach is upset and I have indigestion. I like how I feel when eating sensibly, so why can I not just bloody stick to it?! I'm going on holiday in just under 2weeks and am going to feel horrible sitting around in a bikini. Worse still I still need to go bikini shopping
I suppose I'm not massive (size 14) but I'm the biggest I've ever been, and feel like a beached whale due to my horrible bloated state. I had started to do well, but the slightest setback (eg this time my back playing up) or even distraction (last time was a bbq party) seems to break all my good intentions and I go on a binge and keep at it.
I also seem to have an unhealthy obsession with food, and need to know where ky next meal's coming from, like if we're making plans to go somewhere with people, I have to know if we're going to eat when we get there, or have food before we go or?
Everyone else seems content to go out, and eat if hungry. It's not that we can't afford to do that on a day out, I just need to know or I worry about it. I keep hiding my snacking too
Why can't I just stop thinking ahout food, like everyone else?

Faithless don't give yourself too hard a time, I'm sure your harder on yourself than others are. Try not to over think about food as this can make it worse as its constantly on your mind you feel hungry when not etc, listen to your body and try to distract yourself if you crave junk food, have a glass of water and step away from the junk
I know its easier said than done!
You've still got 2 weeks and you can certainly go away feeling slimmer, less bloated and more confident. Drink plenty of water, eat sensible and exercise.
If the thought of a bikini daunts you, how about a tankini or nice swimsuit with a sarong or beach tunic? Paint your nails a bright colour, put some gradual/fake tan on and a nice accessorie/s and hold your head high you'll will look gorgeous!
Eh xx0 -
Very good advice EH!
Faithless - I've also gone through times when I'm obsessed with food, not sure what changed but I think it was when I was finally not stressed about other things. I think the food issue was just a transferance of worrying about other things but it was something i could control (be it in a bad way by stuffing myself or by being very strict with myself).
Are there other things that are stressing you and causing you to eat for a distraction or comfort?
Just a final thought - however badly you feel about yourself around the pool take a look around you - there is always someone fatter, wrinklier, older, less well groomed than you. Always makes me feel better. Believe me you will be one of the fabbest ladies there!0 -
Fabness today - did day 2 on L4 Ripped in 30 ( a well deserved day off exercise planned for tomorrow) and also just about to log off and tidy my nails up now and repolish toofinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550

Nails filed and repolished with pink gel strengthening coat. For the first time ever I am about to finish a bottle of nail polish thanks to this fabulous thread helping me increase the fabbing and using fab products I already own!
Will try very hard tomorrow to not cave in to the large amount of dairy milk in the biscuit tin like I did today and get back on track. Feel very hungry the last couple of days and its also time of the month time too which I reckon has impacted on my diet.
What else? Not much apart from aiming to go on a nice long dog walk tomorrow after work as the weather looks fine. Got to take advantage of these fine days!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Lizzie, I've got a pair of girl rats and they don't start to smell at all until about day 6, and they get cleaned out once a week. The type of bedding will make a difference, obviously they can't have pine shavings like hamsters as it causes major lung issues in rats. Biocatlet, a cat litter type thing from Sainsburys, or cardboard squares used in horse bedding (eg ecopetbed found here http://www.shop.earthlyenterprises.co.uk in giant bales which last me about 9 months or smaller packs which are more expensive) are both good.
I leave the smallest window of the 3 that open in their (upstairs) room ajar a little bit so the air circulates. However boy rats smell more than females, although they are friendlier -girls don't really like being handled much. My friend has a pair of male mice, and when I've sat for them on holiday, and they absolutely stink!
Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit, but I figure your house will be more fab if it doesn't smell like rat pee, right?!
Thanks I've ordered a bit to try as even a small bale works out better value than the stuff we were using. They are boys so I know they smell more funny thing is they seem to smell worse just after cleaning because they are scenting the clean bedding. We are also looking for a bigger cage as the one we are using is only for while they are babies -it will be too small fo full grown rats. Thanks again for your help.
On the eating, I've always been like this -if I tried to cut down I just ate more and could only think of food but since I started the 5:2 diet I've managed to stick with it (mostly) and by counting the calories everyday I've lost more than I've lost before and I'm not thinking of food all the time.
I've lost another 2lbs :j. I'm really pleased, that's 6lbs in total. I can see the difference in my muffin top:rotfl:for the first time in ages. I admit I am still struggling a bit some days to have enough calories, which is really weird for me cos normally I eat for England.:rotfl:
Yoga done this morning, I've also re-started the derma rollering and am going to keep at it this time - 3 times a week to see if there's any change in my skin.
Time to walk the dogs, Hope you all have a :)good dayFrump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Faithless - I'm the same as you - need to know what the arrangements are for meals etc and get worried hours before that I may be hungry later!? I now put a snack or two in my handbag to get me through or at least act as a fallback and I find that gives me peace of mind and I rarely need to eat it. I also battle with food as I use it as a "treat" but seem to be able to find an excuse most days as to why I should have wine/chocolate/"nice" dinner/cake etc but then get upset when I put weight on and need a treat to cheer me up so I can totally sympathise with you.
Great advice from Everhopeful and I agree that you can lose a bit, particularly the bloating etc to increase your confidence and feel better in 2 weeks.
Todays fabbing includes a nicer than usual outfit for work, styled hair and some great jewellery I found lurking in the bottom of my jewellery box and I feel good
How is everyone getting on with their last minute goals? I haven't been great at having facials at home or painting my nails etc but I have definitely been more aware of what's needed, must make just a bit more effort!! I've also had a few complements recently about looking well etc which has defininetly spurred me on.Got married October 2012 :jHoping to conceive 20130 -
Morning all,
evilsquid - what a ridiculous woman! I would just try and ignore her, I'm sure people are more aware of what she's doing then she thinks and hopefully it will come around for her soon x
faithless - hun, try not to be so hard on yourself. We all have blips. I'm the same as ww my poor eating/binging gets much worse when I'm stressed or worrying about things so maybe that could be a factor? I also have trigger points, eg certain situations or even times of day when I'm much more likely to pig out - if you can try and recognise when/what these are it can make it a bit easier to try and avoid them or do something to distract yourself. To tie in with the fabbing, I find beauty routines really good for this, eg if I'm sat in the evening watching a film, or vegging to crap tv, then I end up feeling the urge to snack - so I'll try and do something fabbing instead. Makes me feel a little better, and is very hard to eat while doing your nails or a face mask :rotfl:Also, I can't remember what eating plan you're on but are you perhaps going a little 'too' sensible?Personally, I try and have a few treats planned in, because I know if I deprive myself of things completely then I automatically want them more, and when I do end up giving in then I pig out on them twice as much! Sorry, am rambling a little now, but at least it shows that you're not the only one with eating habit problems?
Sparkles - step away from the biscuit tin :rotfl:
Feeling really tired this week, not sleeping very well. Am supposed to be going on an organised walk this evening, will see if I come round a bit later. Am going back to the doctors tomorrow as while my chest is a lot better, still keep coughing, which I think is contributing to the poor sleepGot my final cover image through, is really nice
Am going to put up on the blog later this week (think will put the link under my contact info for a bit, probably easier).
Hope everyone has a good day x0 -
