Ah I'm glad I found this thread, As I couldn't get any cashback from the local shop, Gave up trying to contact anyone from Natwest as I was on hold for 45mins.0

Finally got through - apparently they have just been told that it will be fixed within 2 hours.
So, got to stay here until it is fixed as need petrol in my car to get home - am now wishing I had brought my credit card out with me.
It's a pretty poor show that this has happened so soon after the last fiasco.

Just after I posted that, I found that my card is now being authorised - at least I can now go home ! ( I was able to buy euromillions tickets - I know where my millions won't be going if I win !)[STRIKE]DFW Nerd number 729[/STRIKE]Debt Free & Proud0

My car insurance payment still hasn't been taken from my account & my Sky payment went out yesterday despite being due on 14th,I'm pretty sure that one bounced because of all these !!!! ups & both direct debits being cancelled early in July due to me changing to Barclays.
So I've a dilema...my Sky payment has put me overdrawn & the car payment's not showing up,so do I leave the money in my Barclays account on the off-chance the payments fail in the Ulster account there,or transfer money back to the Ulster just in case they go thru?
Is the a time limit as to when the paying bank cannot recall the direct debits?0 -
I've been a customer of Natwest for 25 years and I have never really had anything to moan about.
Even the last failure, I thought fair enough and this failure too was annoying, but ok something that I wasn't that annoyed about.
But what did really peed me off, was the complete lack of even the most basic info on their main website page.
In addition their Twitter feed stopped giving any updates from late afternoon and no info on their ideas bank page either.
I didn't want blood or even an expected fix time, just a we have a problem with card payments and online banking we are working on.
Would have saved me trying to make several purchases thinking my card was faulty or account blocked for some reason.0 -
So, a few weeks on, did any Nat West/RBS customers have any success claiming compensation after their week or so of problems in June? Did you move your account - which bank is worth moving to?
Apparently RBS are finally due to give us lesser mortals at Ulster Bank, (some of us waited for credits and payments to be made for almost a month) details of compensation that may be available next week- lets hope it's worth it! Somehow I think not...0 -
And the silence from Ulsterbank is deafening !!!!!0

I have just recieved a letter from my car insurers saying they've received a indemnity claim in relation to a insurance payment made on 2nd July, checked the Ulster & this was debited/credited on 17th August...This is the missing payment made AFTER I cancelled the direct debits with Ulster & moved to Barclays...Good job I kept money in Barclays to cover this just in case..0
