Forgetting the should have read the T&C's etc
The answer to my original question is, I believe, Distance Selling Regulations they must provide a proper address & not a PO Box, invoices etc
http://www.oft.gov.uk/shared_oft/business_leaflets/general/oft913.pdf
Applies if you are dealing with a UK company ONLY.
Looking at the page it says it will show as...
deadseakit 8007175794 on the charge...that looks like a US phone number on the end, so it all depends where its shipped from as the 'address' of domain registration is a well known address for 'invisible' UK companies.0 -
Applies if you are dealing with a UK company ONLY.
From their Terms and Conditions:
"We" are the service and goods provider of Deadseakit.com, DS Marketing Limited, a company formed in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
From Companies House website:
DS MARKETING LTD
788 - 790 FINCHLEY ROAD
LONDON
UNITED KINGDOM
NW11 7TJ
Company No. 07800556
So there you have it, the OP can knock himself out over this, SOGA and DSR do apply. And I'm guessing that this underhand website is in breach of several laws.Je suis Charlie.0 -
The returns address on the actual website deadseakit.com is in Israel. The link in the OP is an affiliate link and goes to a promo page.0

It's just a different page. The T & C's are the same in both places and make it clear that you are contracting with a UK company:
Home Page
Promo Page
The return address is irrelevant, except that I'm guessing it's not lawful for a company distance-selling in the UK to provide a return address in Israel.Je suis Charlie.0 -

He can try, before you posted that you really should have researched that address, like I said above, its well documented as being an 'invisible' company address.0 -

But surely the company has honoured their obligations under the DSR's.
They accepted payment then sent the goods and allowed the customer 14 days in which to try the product, and if not happy they can return it for a full refund.0 -

The OP was pointing out that the company fails to provide its physical address, as required under the DSR. And he's right, I had to use Companies House to get their address.
It also seems to me that a for a UK-based company to offer a return address in Israel is tantamount to a refusal to accept returns, also a breach of the DSR.Je suis Charlie.0 -

I should've researched it??? More than I did? Why? Are you gonna pay me for doing that?
You referred to the address at which the domain is registered, I posted the address at which the company is registered at Companies House. As such, it looks like I already researched it more than you did, and more than most would do before posting here.
It is a UK-registered company and as such is subject to UK law. Accordingly, if he wishes, the OP can report the company to the relevant authorities for its breaches of UK law.Je suis Charlie.0 -
I have fallen foul too. I use online banking, and they have taken £57.95 from my account, as of 22/06/2012, but I haven't even had the product for 14 days! what should I do, get my bank to refund my monnies and investigate, or do I send it back? does it now mean that as they have taken the money, that I am not entitled to a refund? please advise which address I should send the product back to? x0
