    The plot thickens...

The other half had her paper statement through last night, after having 4 months of statements saying 'total cashback earned £100' (AND having spent over £200 on the card since then), but the new statement says this:

    Previous cashback earned: £100
    Cashback this month: -£0.51 !!!!
    Total cashback earned: £99.49

And it has therefore been rounded down to £95 in the cashback payment!

She phoned Aqua and spoke to a woman who might as well have been a computer, who simply kept repeating that she had only earned £99.49 and didn't seem to want to answer why we had April, May and June statements saying £100 earned, and that the 'previous cashback earned' on the July statement was also £100. She acknowledged that you can't earn minus cashback in a month, but then insisted that it was right (because that's what the system shows!).

Was hoping to get it sorted with a simple phone call / email but it looks like it will have to be the formal complaint route

I don't see anything like this in my T&C and I believe that generally DD payments are not a part of the T&C. It's usually just a published policy or empirical experience.

OK. I've read the terms and conditions and a few statements a few times, and indeed there is no such clause... Where have I seen it though? I have only one other card, so I'll check that one at some point too, to clear things up.

On the other hand, I need to go back in the thread and mark a few things I said "BS". I've stumbled upon the clause about taking your account into credit, and it applies if you take it into credit with funds from credit and store cards only :)

Did you get any refunds on transactions that earned you cashback? That's the only way to get negative cashback.

Seeing as LloydsTSB wont change to use the new sort code and account number for Aqua thought I would make a faster payment using the original sort code and account number. Works fine !!:j

Lloyds now have the new Aqua account details on their internet banking. For use with Aqua cards starting 5570 98...

(or you could have set it up manually)

Nope. And even if she had, the additional £200+ spending would have covered it.

Unless somehow if there were refunds they were counted against last years cashback and the spending against this years?!

No because it was shown on the July statement which was the 12th statement, so last year.

I'm not going to loose any sleep over 5 quid, but I'm not just going to drop it because aqua say it's right without any explanation either.

    Hi everyone,

Please make sure you call your bank on the date when your DD should be taken and make sure this was requested by Aqua.

Sorry if I unnecessarily started new thread, but please see problem which I have encountered which now I am afraid, could even potentially damage my credit rating due to "missed payment".

My post on that topic is here:

Sorry if I'm asking in the wrong place, but I didn't realise I has a reward card until last month. Just cancelled it yesterday forgetting that I have about £17 cashback on there. Anyone know if I will be able to get this or if I shouldn't bother trying? Only had the card since October 2012.

Can't see there is any harm in asking them to re-instate the card, but you need to accept they might not be able/willing to do it as it's no longer available.
