Have you checked your Aqua online account for the available funds?
Yes - they're well over the purchase amount too.shortcrust wrote: »This happened to me on three separate occasions before Christmas. It's a fraud prevention thing. On one occasion I got an automated call from aqua asking me to confirm the transaction. It was incredibly irritating as I was trying to buy an ipad mini and by the time it was all sorted the stores were out of stock! My guess is that you'll not be able to make the purchase until you've spoken to them. They told me it was a random thing and that I was just unlucky.
Thanks - I called Aqua and they said there's nothing which would hold up authorising my payment. I didn't get any automated calls either. They did say a part of my postcode found its way to the line where the city is in my address somehow and corrected it but I tried since and no luck (also not like this card hadn't been authorised on other websites before). I am going to wait until tomorrow now - maybe the address still needs time to go through... Grrrrr0 -
Last few weeks I have been using the Aquacard in Europe. Exchange rate I got was always around 1 EuroCent better than the highest Forex rate for the day.
After my reaching my Aquacard credit limit, I used Halfax Rewards credit card. It also gave me better than the Forex rates. But the cashback was £5 for £300+ spend. Which works out at 1.67% max, compared to 3% for the Aquacard.0 -
I got rejected by British Gas for installing credit meters, as my credit history seems too short (no debts, no mobile contract, no mortgage, am on the electoral roll etc), wondering if trying to apply for this credit card (and obviously repaying in full each month) will help, but I imagine this can take a few months...
anyone any ideas? thanks (:0 -
Any history will help, but Aqua are pretty unpredictable. So, if rejected, don't be surprised and try some other 'building history' cards. M
Also, it's worth considering getting a cheap sim-only mobile contract and a bank account with an overdraft facility. And/or making a small purchase on a store card.0 -
I just wanted people to know in case they have the same situation as me that I have just got a decline for a credit card over turned from Aqua.
I originally applied in the summer 2012. I was declined. Then I received an invite to apply and applied and again declined in November 2012. December 2012 I sent a letter of complaint that they invited me after a decline originally and examples of my current credit and some ID. And boom - one credit card agreement and an apology letter stating they had reconsidered my application and based on the information I had provided.

Had my card since July with a £250 limit I applied online for an increase to £1000 which was rejected but they have upped it to £350 which is much better as my spending is around £300 per month.
Exactly the same happened to me, requested £1000 from my initial £250 and they've today offered me £350. I was hoping for around £500-600 as I've paid the balance off in full each month and recently started earning more so I'm a bit disappointed, but it's better than nothing. Anyone know how long I should wait to ask for a second increase?0 -

Same thing here, limit increased to £350 from £250 last week after 6 months. They said on the phone that the next review is in 4 months.0 -
I applied for an 'Aqua Reward' card and got this:Thank you for your recent application for an aqua Credit Card. We're pleased to offer you a credit card. Your pre-contractual documents and credit agreement, including the credit limit we have given you, will shortly be sent to you in the post.
Please ensure you sign the credit card agreement and return it with your proof of identity in the FREEPOST envelope provided.
I just want to know if this is the normal procedure with Aqua - I called them about this 'Proof Of Identity' and the lady said she could not see what would be required e.c.t?
It's just a little concerning - since when applying for other cards, they just put the pin and card in the post - and said that I should download copies of the conditions e.c.t. - whereas all I got here was a summary box and privacy policy.
I asked her about my credit limit (although did not really like to speak about it) - and she said it was £1,600 (but they would review this every 6 months and write about any increases/changes) - is this around the normal limit?Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!0 -

I would have suspected this to be the case -since with my M&S and Santander Card - this was the case (with Santander the card just came and the pin) and M&S all they wanted to do was the signature - but I don't know with Aqua - if it is just a generic thing or perhaps I have not passed this?Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!0
