To be honest, they also told me about this DD policy when I asked them to setup a DD on the account.
Other cards also do the same thing, I know my MBNA card does.
Once the statement is printed stating the DD collection amount, the only way of stopping the DD is by contacting them. Personally, I don't care if my account goes into credit as I'll be using the card the next month anyway, so the funds will be used up.0 -
Total cashback earned since August £96.06
Nearly time to stop using it :beer:0 -
I've had this account for 6 months now and want to request a credit limit increase. It's currently £250 and I'd like it to be as high as possible (I'm aware the upper end is £1200 on these cards). I've payed of the amount in full every month and my monthly income has recently increased. If I ask for a large increase, say up to £1000, and they refuse it will I be offered an increase of a lower amount or do I run the risk of being flat-out refused an increase? Am I best to ask for a more modest credit limit increase of say £500 or should I just ask for a higher amount and see what happens?0

Some people on this thread have reported the maximum offered was £1600.
You can request an increase after 6 months, and people on this thread have been offered increases, myself included, after less than 6 months, so ask, you have nothing to lose.

I had a £250 limit, requested £600 after 6 months, and was given £350.
I don't know whether the amount you ask for affects the decision, but I expect it's more likely that the just press a magic button, and the computer calculates how much they're prepared to give.0 -

Have you not been given an automatic credit limit increase?
Others seem to have - it might be worth waiting to see what they give you.
I don't thgink there is any 'upper limit' as such. Their website suggests an initial limit of £250 - £1600 (although I don't see anyone here having got offered anything other than £250 or £500 initially depending on status)
I think £1200 is just a figure they use on their website to calculate the APR that applies0 -
Thanks to people's replies regarding increasing the credit limit. Unfortunately I've checked my balance today and hit a snag. When I checked my "amount available" last night I had about £45 left, so I made a purchase of £30. Unfortunately, A debit from a payment I made for petrol a couple of days ago wasn't showing at the time, which I'd forgotten about, but now it's showing up and as a result I've exceeded the credit limit:(. This is incredibly annoying and as I understand it not only will I lose all the cashback I've earnt, but I'll be charged £12 for going over the limit. Do I have a leg to stand on here? It's annoying because I made a point of checking that I had enough credit left and my account at the time showed that I did, but by the rules I've broken the terms and conditions due to this payment from a couple of days ago only just showing up. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance.0

Do a faster payment to bring yourself under the limit.
Then call aqua, apologise, and ask if they will waiver the charge/let you keep your cashback. Others have reported success when they've rung and asked nicely.0 -
