I reserved one last night for a present for an engagement party I am going to tonight. It would have been a nice present if I had got there before the other 6 that reserved one. So no vac for me. I get the idea it is a stock control problem but it was quite annoying to make a special journey on my day off, then to have to go somewhere else for a present. As it happens they rung me at home to say they had sold out but I was at the shop at the time.

they rang me, but I was anoyyed so I took the joruney anyway to try by luck but no joy!! the duty manager said he was v' sorry' but still no joy! i bet i get them next time

I even said I would ring trading standards in an attemp! at this point he was going to call security as I just did not leave him alone! and told me that there was no contract in place

Reserved mine last night and went to pick it up today, got the oh we dont actually have any in stock routine but I stood my ground, told him that because a friend of mine had been told the same thing in another store I had rung their head office before I went just to make sure (load of rubbish but it sounded good at the time lol) SA went into back shop and was away for ages. Meantime another SA came out and had a good look at me and went back in.
Eventually got my hoover. Thanks OP a real bargain at under a fiver :)

They didn't have mine and I think it's dreadful that they are hiding these items that we are taking the time to drive and collect..There's no point in ordering online if they don't even have them when we get there.I rang customer services after my wasted journey and they told me to get a home delivery then you know you get it then....I told them the ordering system was a waste of time and she said they are trying to change it in the future. In future if I want anything it's better to go down there ASAP..

Reserved mine a couple of hours ago, bearing in mind i have to travel 20 miles to the store, i decided to phone them to ensure they have it in stock - used https://www.saynoto0870.com - 5 minutes on the phone to great chap - verified in stock and reserved for me.

I did however notice this on their website which i think is very naughty -
"If you can’t find what you’re looking for contact us:
Telesales orders: 0870 609 7493 - calls are charged at local rate."

Unless i'm mistaken 0870 is a national call rate???

As it's for pets - can anyone confirm how well it would work on a hamster?

I think you are supposed to plug it in to the mains and not expect your hamster to power it :)
