I read this post last night at 7pm and went straight online and managed ro reserve one at my local (20miles away) Currys store. I drove straight away once I had the reservation number and arrived just 10mins before they closed.
The girl on the till typed in the number and said it was a Pet game I said no I think you will find it is a pet hoover. She couldn't believe the price. The manager who was stood next to her said she better go and make sure there was still one left as the screen was showing four in stock but staff had already reserved three of them.
She came back with the last one and I must say what a great bargain, the power is fantastic and I will use it mainly for hoovering the stairs and cleaning out the car.
I will have to but an airbed now just so I can use the blower facility.

I think I've had a bit of a result.

Firstly, surprise, surprise...I went to collect my bargain this morning. The salesman brought it up on the system, headed off to the storeroom....5 mins past, 10 mins (this is't looking good!)....about 15 mins later he comes back "Sorry sir, I can't find it" he said, "Best I can do is offer you this instead at the same price"....

(its box was strapped to the outside of the main dustbuster box)

Therefore, it's a shame I missed the original bargain (& I really wanted a mains powered vacuum)*BUT* in the end, I actually bagged some kit totalling about £65 for just £4.99!

And all this happened without a fight...so what I'd suggest is that you print my post here out & if like me when you turn up & they can't locate it, show them what my experience was (this was the Frien Barnet branch in London if they want to check)

Just come back from my local empty handed, I reserved online yesterday and thought it was okay especially as a lady was leaving carrying one as I arrived, but they said there were none left

Reserved one of these last night and just been to collect it from store......no problem, the staff were saying how they have flew out and what a great bargain it was.

I reversed one late last night from redditch, rang at 9 this morning to make sure they didn't sell it. I could hear the girl dealing with me saying to someone in the background, 'its not the bags, its the actual vacumn, its £5!' Then she comes back on the phone with 'I need to check the stockroom' story, and suprise suprise they've all been sold! :mad:
