yep i was 11 and just starting secondary school - i guess thats the time when girls begin to be more conscious of boys and things and hairy legs is embarrassing!! I would let her shave her legs, you could check out the waxing option but i remember a beautician telling me she wouldnt wax anyone under 16, she gave a reason but I cant remember what it was. Your daughter may not like the idea of waxing anyway. (i still hate it and i'm 28 though it is a necessary evil!)DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

My Dad bought my a ladies electric razor when I was 12. It had an adaptor for legs or underarms. If you're not keen on a wet razor then maybe this might be a good route. Plus having never shaved before, she probably won't notice that they don't shave that close anyway.0

My daughter who is 11 has had a lady shave since she was 10 as she had under arm hair and was self concious at ballet lessons ( i decided batteries were safer than BICs ). Strangley she hasn't even mentioned her legs or even realised the lady shave will do legs as well :rotfl: but i am expecting her to start any day now.0

I was probably 11 i remember i was in year 7 at school so the max i'd have been was 12.
I don't think i'd have a prob with my DD doing the same thing as long as i show her how to first or something i guess? Never really thought of it0 -
I was about 12. I had really dark hairs on my legs and used to dread p.e., I felt so self conscious, but didn't dare bring the subject up with my mum. It was awful, I became quite obsessive about it. Then one night I shaved them with my mums razor, couldn't stop stroking my smooth legs :rotfl:0

Thanks all. The reason I said I would have to consider it was more to give me time to come to terms that my little girl is growing up
Anyway, I mentioned waxing and got a look of horror. I am happy to report DD now has smooth legs, that like lexilex says she cant stop stroking lol
We went for cream in the end, I did one leg and she did the other. She is a very happy little girl, or should that read "young lady" tonight.0 -
zut alors!
Reading this thread has made me soooo thankful to be a natural blonde. I have never had to shave my legs, or do anything else to them. I don't have much body hair and I realise now that is something to be grateful about...the whole wax/shave/buff thing sounds so horrid!
The worst I've ever had to do is put a bit of cream on the underarms... Seems that nature has let me off lightly!0 -
MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES

Hi Pulliptears
My dd s are 14,12 (almost) and they started shaving their legs and armpits at the age of 11.I thought it was too soon but they were insistant that their friends were doing it and that they would get called.
I helped them do it the first few times and they haven t had a problem. They don t need to do it often yet only weekly as it grows in slow.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0
