apparently, spearmint tea is supposed to help reduce facial hair, haven't tried it personally.

Ooooo, I'm so glad I found this thread. I thought I was the only one fighting the hairy fight!
I've had a hairy upper lip for as long as I can remember. I used to use wax, but the redness it left behind was worse than the hair and the regrowth was always so quick, plus, it seemed to make me break out in coldsores. I think the trauma brought the sores out!!! Once I even managed to accidentally rip off a piece of skin. Not a good look.
Now I use my old forgotten epilator. Yep, it hurts like hell, but less each time and seems quicker than wax strips. regrowth is getting finer. I must have been doing this for about eighteen months now and have noticed much less hair.
Also using wax strips seemed to make the area above my upper lip more prominent, think 'lion-man' type look.
I have about three thick, wiry hairs on my chin that I pluck when I see them peeking through...Oh the joys of being a woman!!

    Hi there

Would love to know if anyone has had this done, what it cost and how they feel about the results.

Want to get my bikini area done, I'm a ginger - and tried 1 treatment last year (before meladine was around) and the results were doubtful so agreed with the nurse to not do a full course.

Now have heard about meladine which is used to allow blonde and ginger hair to be lasered - and have gone back and nurse thought I would be suitable.

Harley Medical Group quoted £455 for 6 laser treatments and then £50 for a bottle of meladine - although not sure if thats enough for all 6 treatments or will i have to buy more...

Would be good to hear how the price compares if anyone else has had laser (for full bikini area) and experiences of using Meladine...

    thanks

I have used it on my upper lip which is painful and makes my eyes water, but you can control how much you do so I do it in little bits. The chin and jaw is easy to do and doesn't hurt as much, I am slightly worried that now I've ripped out all the fine hairs that they will grow back a lot stronger. If they don't then I will let my daughter have a go on her upper lip.

Has saved me a lot of time plucking, although it is still necessary to do this for the thicker, tougher hairs, but have to say that so far I am very pleased with it. I hadn't realised I was so hairy until I used this the first time and felt all these tiny hairs coming out.

Am I the only one that cuts my tache off???

No.....NOT shaves it off - wouldn't be so stupid, with resulting 'too bare skin' . I used to bleach....but got fed up like another poster said with the yellow fluffy caterpillar.

I get a pair of sharp cosmetic scissors, and lay the blades flat against the skin (as opposed to cutting each individual hair) and sort of 'strim' my way round the area, which gives a close hairless look, without the shaved look if you know what I mean. It's a bit harder to do your chin...but I only get one or two pig bristles there anyway so they just get pulled with tweezers.
    Life.

No Steph, you are not alone. That is the method which I use too. It just worries me that it leaves my skin feeling perhaps are little prickly, IYKWIM. I need a good light, my specs and a magnifying mirror to see the hairs and to do the job so perhaps I am just being paranoid but I just hate the thought of a hairy face.

I am still interested in the epicare mentioned in earlier posts and am eager to know what the regrowth is like before I take the plunge.
