Yes, it feels too scratchy like a mans tache if you shave. Waxing is good, last for weeks.0

Which cold wax strips do people recommend. I tried Boots own and they were useless0

lolly, go to a beauty salon, for a few quid extra you get an expert doing it for you0

I ask, because I honestly can't remember and its something that has now cropped up with DD.
She is 11, and asked me on friday if she could shave her legs. I questioned why and she told me the hair is quite long and itchy now and she says it can be seen through her school tights. She worries that in summer the boys at school will notice.
She starts high school in september, and I do recall that I was shaving at the stage but I dont know what to do!
I dont want to instantly say yes, and if I did it would have to be veet cream or something rather than a razor.
I'd be interested in your opinions here, especially those with girls of a similar age!0 -
Poor lassie - it's dreadful when you first feel self conscious.
Bear in mind I only have a toddler boy, however I would be very inclined to actually start taking her to a beautician for leg waxing. If it's done early before the hairs get their strong roots, then she may not need it done very often. The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
Let her remove it if she is now at the stage where it is bothering her. I see no merit in making her wait until she's older.
I agree with the Veet as long as her skin is ok with it.
Edit: Js has a good point about waxing and roots.....might be worth considering that.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I reckon i was about 11
maybe even 10, and i just did it. Mum was not amused she said i was making the biggest mistake of my life, cos once you start you need to keep on doing it
I would say let her go for it.:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
I think I was 11 and just started secondary school.
If you dont want to go down the road of waxing try a lady shave although they do leave the legs a bit 'prickly'"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

Thanks guys, I didnt want to instantly say "yes", probably more for me and its another one of those little things that make you realise your little girl isnt so little anymore
Thats a brilliant idea about the waxing, but I doubt she will agree with that lol
Bra's, shaving....it will be periods and boys next and then I'm in trouble!0 -
Ahh i really feel for you ! i am dreading when that time comes for me ! my daughter is only 3 but i can only imagine what it will be like when she gets to the point in her life where she worries what other people think of her , i think that i was about 11 when i first started i nicked my dads razor and done it ! but looking back i would prob have prefured waxing but for some reason i was to embarresed to mention it to my mum ?? dnt know why xx0
