I have used Magic cream and yes it works well EVERYWHERE. Lots of American with PCOS use it on their face.

Just wondering if anyone on here has ever tried the at-home Rio hair removal systems? I'm getting tempted to try one as my partner is quite self conscious over his shoulder hair. He has quite thick, dark hair (which I've heard is the best type for laser removal?) but I know he'd never dream of going to a salon to have it done (understandable!)

I've seen these Rio scanning systems (averaging about £170-£200) which can zap up to 20 hairs at once and usually take 5-7 treatments. But obviously thats a lot cheaper than getting it done professionally. However, I've heard VERY mixed reports. Some reviews claim excellent results at the end of x amount of sessions while other people claim absolutely nothing visible happened at all after many attempts. I don't want to waste my money so I thought I'd ask on here first - has anyone ever tried one of these at home? Any advise greatly appreciated!!

Haven't tried this, but have tried there other products: Tattoos, nails, hair remover (by a spinning disc system) and found them all to be rubbish. Wouldn't but any of there products every again. If you do buy make sure its from a store which will take it back if it doesn't work.

Thanks for the advise, good idea about buying it from a store that'd take it back too if it didn't do what it said on the box!

    Hi,

I've tried one and it was absolutely rubbish so I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on one.

Someone else has also asked the same question as you, have a search and see what other responses were received x

Thanks, will do a search! :D
  • Why not hot wax or depilliate him? It may not exactly be comfortable the first few times, but I have been depilliating for a few years on my legs and parts are actually bald! Only problem is that you can get hairs growing under the top layers of skin, nothing a bit of exfoliation can't solve though. I know this is a slightly more long-term solution but it has the added advantage in that it actually works.

Times are changing it is now not only acceptable for men to get these things done, but the norm. All the younger football players are getting this kind of thing done, David Beckham and his ilk. Men being men I would try to persuade him to get laser treatment, tell him it,s a birthday present ect. and you allready paid for it. This is the less painfull option and some just dont come back after just one treatment. Your right about thick dark hair against pale skin being the best kind for this treatment. If he doesnt go for it, tell him to look at the likes of Sean Connery (an oldy but a blinkin sexy man still) who is a bit of a monkey in that department:D
